Dark brown beer, big beige head.
Smell of roasted malts, dark chocolate, faint smoke, hops and dark fruit.
Taste follows the nose, with rich roast and dark chocolate, hints of coffee also. Smokiness also present, but really faint. Some roasted hazelnuts. Dark fruit jam, not extremely sweet though, and some fresh citrus zest. Musty grapes also. Spicy yeasts (pepper, anise). Herbal hops pack a decent bitterness on their own, so the finish is actually pretty rough.
Medium body, low to medium fizz, easy to drink. Alcohol reminds a bit of red wine, doesn't get boozy. Bitter aftertaste of roasted grains and leafy hops.
A really well balanced beer, lots of great elements.
