I really liked this beer, and this was after having a different beer first (their Scotch ale) which may have affected my pallete. Even though it is an IPA (English) I thought it was very well balanced and not overly hoppish. It had a thick 1" head that settled like a Guinness but lasted throughout the drink. It had a floral nose, and the first sip was sweet, though it didn't last long...very nice! It was full bodied with a nice mouth feel and very light carbonation. The finish was moderate with a light bitterness. And the fact it was served at standard cask temperature (around 52 F) made it an overall enjoyable beer. I would definitely order again!

A: Poured a golden-orangish color with a white whispy leaving behind some moderate lacing, faint bubbles..
S: Herbal, bready with some floral notes
T: Initial taste is a bit herbal with floral hop notes riding on the back of a bready malt base. A little bit of lingering bitterness on this but mainly on the back end/finish.
M: Low-medium bodied, well carbonated
O: Traditionally not a fan of the style but if I were to drink a modern day English IPA it would be this one. Very good.
Serving type: growler
