Had full glass on tap at the brewery. L: Bright, deep dark brown with a thin white to light tan foam cap that provides light lace.
O: Traces of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, red grape, alcohol, bourbon, dark dried fruit.
T: The palate follows the aromas with big bourbony alcohol supported by rich dark sugars, dark dried fruit, and traces of red wine.
F: Full bodied with medium to medium low carbonation.
O: Boozy but well balanced and very flavorful.

On tap at the brewpub. 5 oz. serving as part of a flight.
Appearance: Color is a very dark brown. Small finger of off white head. Moderate bubbles.
Smell: A pretty sweet and nicely boozy English style Barleywine aroma with a scent of bourbon, red wine, and molasses. Upfront bourbon barrel scent with some vanilla, oak, and wood. Red wine hints of grapes and tannins. Big scent of molasses and brown sugar. Dark fruit hints of fig, raisin, grape, prune, and dates. Malt hints of toast and biscuit along with yeast. Hops are pretty subtle. Pretty nice aroma.
Taste: Like the smell previews, a sweet and boozy English style Barleywine taste with notes of bourbon, red wine, and molasses. Bourbon barrel notes of vanilla, oak, and wood. Red wine notes of tannins and grapes. Lots of molasses and brown sugar sweetness. Dark fruit notes of raisin, prune, fig, grape, and dates. Malt notes of biscuit, toast, and yeast. Pretty light hops. A very nice taste.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Fairly slick and syrupy. Alcohol heat is moderate.
Overall: A very good barrel aged Barleywine. Good mix of barrel heat, sugar sweetness, and dark fruit. Very much an English Barleywine.

Dark brown, nearing black. Caramel brown around the edge.
Lots of molasses, brown sugar, and bouron. The wine is lighter in this one. It is heavy and thick. Has a grape and molasses flavor in the middle.
Warming and smooth. Kind of rich. Very enjoyable.
