On-tap at the brewpub: These Milds' tend to be all over the map when it comes to color, this one happens to be a solid scarlet brown with a small but thickly set creamed foam of dark ivory. Good lacing in blobs and spotting.
Aroma is of a toasted raisin bread thats sweet but restrained. Slivers of chocolate frosting and dark cherry emerge as it sits.
Taste is a nice pale roastyness of chocolate breads and some sharper brown sugar notes wrapped within a subdued dark cherry sweetness. Middle has a nice mellow and clean caramel that cleans the palate off and helps bring in some of the lighter fruityness and maltyness. A minimal sweeter hop tone slips past nearer the finish. All in all a nice little taster for a Mild. More fruity and sweet then anything but mild, hmmpt...who would of thought?
Feel is about right for a mild; clean, slippery, creamy, slight sweetness and even slighter hop all within a shy medium body that seems to fit well for the flavors.
A fine drinker too. Goes down without much hassle and is flavorful enough to keep it interesting. It changes some as it warms, kinda roasty then kinda sweet, back and forth we go, a fun balance continues to intrigue as you go from sip to sip. Kinda nice, I liked that. It maintains a subtle and different level of mild nearly each sip.

Poured out of a nitro tap at the brewpub...
Clear and dark chestnut red appearance with a rock solid flat head of over 1/4 of an inch, as solid as jello. Laces in thick and attractive bands. Body is light and airy from the pour, the aroma is lightly grainy with a bit of huskiness. Carbonation is finely done, creamy in presentation. Malty and a bit sweet with a long-lasting brown sugar presentation, the beer stays consistent through the mouth. Hopping is gentle, not even quite floral. Slightly watery at the finish, just a slight detraction. Well-executed lower alcohol style here, I'd call it a mild based on the very minimal detection of hops.

From a growler, after several samples on tap:
Bright ruby color, high carbonation, slim layer of tannish fuzz on top.
Aroma is muted, but speaks of cherries, and caramel, and chocolate eclairs.
Taste is sweet, fruity, with small help from hops, but a big serving of malt, offering up a nearly bready, toasty, fruity, rich, and substantial mild ale.
At the pub, I felt a thinning in the body about 1/4 through the pint, and that's just starting to happen now. But the taste is so fine, as to cover up that flaw, which is what I don't like about some milds, the hollowness in the body.
This one is so smooth, but full of character, that it can be downed with exceptional aplomb, and you never feel like you're missing anything. Much better than the last attempt they made, the Minnesota Mild, one of the few beers from Town Hall that I simply did not like at all. I happily tossed back my two pints with dinner, and am perfectly content with it now. The bright fruit and toasty malt flavor really sticks with you!
Very tasty, another success!
