750 ml mini growler bought from the brewpub with a date of July 14, 2015. Poured into a Town Hall Chalice glass.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy yellowish orange with a lot of bubbles. Big three finger white head that fades back into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A spicy and fruity Belgian style yeast driven aroma with hints of citrus fruit and spices. Belgian style yeast with spice hints of coriander, white pepper, and clove. Wheat with hints of grains, straw, cracker, and biscuit. Zesty fruit hints of lemon, orange, and banana. Hops are very light. A pretty good Witte style aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a zesty and spicy Belgian style taste with notes of fruit and spices. Belgian yeast with notes of coriander, clove, and white pepper spicing. Wheat along with bready notes of straw, grains, biscuit, and cracker. Citrus fruit notes of lemon and orange along with some banana. A little candied sugar. A pretty good Witte taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Crisp, drying, and smooth.

Overall: A very good take on a Belgian style Witte. Good mix of Belgian style spices and fruit notes.

"American white Ale" on tap at the brewpub.

Hazy, yellow golden body with a good head that leaves some lacing on the glass.

Light bodied but not watery; medium-light, soft carbonation. Semi-dry finish. Very nice feel.

Fruity and yeasty aroma. Mildly spicy and tart flavor with a good bit of lemon. Good balance.

Light gold...very clear for an ale....nose has corriander, orange peel, grains of paradise maybe? Perfumey aroma...taste is spicy wheat and a strong impression of orange peel.

Body is on the lighter side of medium...finishes with a spicy splash of alcohol..

Very nice brew..a little bit too strong of an alcohol flavor for the style...first impression better than lasting impression...I like a whit that slides down quickly and easily with some taste....while this is flavorfull in many respects, it lacks some of the qualities I like in a whit...perhaps that was the goal with this beer...a fortified whit...if so they accomplished their goal.

Generally clear, amber-glinting brass, clotted with a patchwork of ivory suds.
Fragrant nose of orange peel, wheat, rosemary, and pizza crust.
Descends into the mouth, full of margherita pizza, complete with a flaky thin crust, notions of bay leaves, basil, and especially rosemary (and possibly even sun-dried tomatoes, with some imagination). Wheat hues rein things in, adding a loose doughiness and traces of lemon. Some crackery pils malts as well. Spice, though, is the ringer here. On top of the Italian leaning herbs mentioned above, there is significant ginger and coriander and tarragon electricity. Of everything that is suggested here, rosemary shines through with the most clarity, ginger next. It concludes with a decisive floral (ala roses and lilacs) hoppiness, but one that is largely belittled due to the preceding spice.
Just slighty chubbier that light bodied. The carbonation is modest and enduring.
This is a nuanced and bold summer quaffer. This achieves all its goals of being an altered witbier.
Impressive, per usual. And per usual, thanks to Bighuge.

Light amber color with a slight haze. Thin off white head. Lacing is moderate. A nice fragrant nose. Sweet corriander. Maybe a little mint leaf. Maybe a little nutmeg. Nice wheatiness as well. The sweet orange peel/corriander character hits the palate first with a refreshing force. Then comes a countering tang from the wheat and slight bitterness lingering after the swallow. Nicely balanced. There's kind of a botanical feel to this beer. I'm not sure what's in it, but I think of things like lavender and orchids (lilacs??) when I drink it. A growler of this sets the mood perfectly on these hot days.

On-tap at the brewpub: Hazen medium straw gold color with a small white steardy sitting foam. Laces well in webby sheeting.

Wheatifiedly sweet with wheat on the nose. Nicely fresh and dominant wheat factions tang, spark, and jump to the front with a lovely high ended sweetness. Mildly lemony with a musk oily snap and spice.

Taste has lots of length in the wheat tang. Solidly fresh with a mild snap of buttery lemon wheat toast. Sweet on the wheat and boldly layered and long lasting. Light lemon candyish backwashing and popping wheat spice and breads carry across the finish for great lengths. The whole wheat spice and sweetness really makes a home. Wheat malt is dominant and freshly so with an absolutely fine display of smooth balance and girth.

Feel is bold, clean, and sweet with a solid quick medium body and circumference of wheat snappy sweetness and spice. A solidly smooth drinker. Nothing out of the ordinary for a Town Hall brew. One hell of a wheat beer; good stuff.

Town Hall's latest version of a Belgian White Ale (or Witbier), but brewed with American yeast and a slightly different blend of spices.
Why? Because it's July, American Beer Month!

Clear, hazy straw yellow, big carbonation, nice head, an adequate layer of white.

Aroma is sweetness and spice, but which spice(s)? We took a vote and cinamon took the lead, but ginger was the sidekick. A hint of lemon behind. Just like the Belgian wit, citrus and spice are king. Quite a lively thing in the nose!

It sizzles in the mouth, too, jumps and jitterbugs...light bodied, supremely drinkable...if you like it. A caveat: not for everyone, there's something distinct in the flavor, that some may not be keen on. Me, I love it. Like I said, it's it's own thing, love it or leave...

Thinking on the name...seems they took "liberty" with a classic style, to their own end...and, it's also the second in a three part series...watch out for the Pursuit of Happiness!
