Thanks to zrrbrrt for sharing this one...
Appears a transparent, red-toned brown with a light tan head that slowly fades out. Scattered lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of piney, malty, caramel, vanilla, dark fruit, plums, highlighted by Amarillo hops.
Taste is of a lighter, dryer version of the aromas with a yeastiness that stands out for a DIPA.
Mouthfeel is sweet, yeasty, bitter, dry, with a grapey, plum-like Amarillo hop running nicely along the palate.

Similar to last years Anniversary ale but this seems much more drinkable and balanced.

Really pours out a nice deep crimson tinted amber....frothy white head..

Big piney nose promises a nice hop experience lies ahead.

The taste is big on the piney hops but also has a really a nice sugared toastiness....really blends nicely....

Body is medium to full....perfect carbonation...finishes a little dry with the pine

Overall this is a better beer than last year. Not sure if they tweaked the recipe or if this jsut turned out a little better. The malt component is much improved from last year but it still has that great piney hoppiness..

Pours a beautiful garnet red with a head that forms perfectly and laces all pint long. Aroma of toasty caramel malt over citrusy biting hops.

Starts with a rounded caramel and aromatic maltiness - almost an autumnal, fallen leaves kind of flavor - surrounded by bitter, citrusy, sharp, assertive yet insanely clean hops. Finishes with a slightly roasty-toasty malt combined with solid lingering bitterness and a killer hop spiciness - that aromatic "taste the vapors" thing that is a personal favorite thing to find in a beer. Almost more like a hoppy red ale than an American IPA. Niiice body - the balance keeps it highly drinkable.

Muchos gracias to BA JeffKrenner for the growler!!
