Poured from cask nto a pint glass, a deep pitch black, devoid of any colors, a creamy smooth fluffy inch head tops the blackness, very good staying power, with ring upon ring of lacing down the glass. Pretty much what a porter should look like. Aroma is faint, but echos of toasty malts, chocolate, a bit nutty, maybe some brown sugar even. Nice, just faint. Taste is yummy, nciely roasted malts departing a nutty quality, chocolate hints, picking up the slightest bit of sugary sweetness, just a little, a very good tasting brew. Mouth is, naturally, creamy, so silky smooth, the best style for cask imo, only the faintest carbonation, really none at all, just feels like it a little. A lovely porter, a good quaffer, very good from cask, can't go wrong with this one.
