Hazed amber/copper color, big, frothy off-[white head...looks great!
Vegetal/fruity/herbal nose...rather odd and uncommon, not quite like anything else, really...oats are coming through, more than other malts or hops, strangely enough. Fresh and airy.
Taste: smoo-[ooth. Oats and hops, an intriquing combination, but here they are, and havin' a ball! Light hoppiness up on top, then creamy oatiness. Great drinking, wonderful mouthfeel. Hard to describe, but utterly terrific. Can't help loving it.
How many oatmeal pale ales are there, anyway? Not enough, I think. Great idea, this is, and well executed. A brilliant way to execute a pale ale, and get away from the normal.

This beer pours a clear orange-red color. The head is two inches in height, and recedes into a thick cap of lacing which lasts until the beer is gone. The aroma is of grapefruit, pine, and floral hops, with a nice malt backbone. The taste is a little towards the hooppy side for an ESB, but I'm not complaining. Tons of citrus, pine and floral notes, with caramel malt beneath. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a velvety texture, and lively carbonation. Overall, this is another awesome beer from Town Hall.
