On nitro tap at the brewpub. Served in a standard shaker glass.

Appearance: Color is a dark brownish amber. Big three finger beige head with decent retention. Lots of creamy lacing.

Smell: A very roasty and creamy dark malt driven aroma with big hints of coffee, toast, and cream. Dark roasted malt with upfront hints of coffee beans, toasted bread, chocolate, and cream along with some milk, vanilla, biscuit, caramel, nuts, and yeast. Hop presence is very light. A pretty good roasty aroma.

Taste: Like the nose hints at, a nicely roasty, creamy, and sweet dark malt forward taste with big notes of coffee, chocolate, and cream. Dark roasted barley malt with upfront notes of roasted coffee beans, chocolate, toasted bread, biscuit, caramel, yeast, and nuts along with sweet notes of vanilla, cream, and milk. Subtle presence of dark fruit. Very little hops. A pretty nice taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with medium to high level of carbonation. Very creamy, silky, and smooth with a fairly drying finish.

Overall: A very good take on a coffee Porter. Good roasty coffee and chocolate notes with a nice boost of cream from the nitro.

Enjoyed this beer numerous times at the Town Hall Tap in S. Minneapolis.

Deep brown verging on black with only a moderate taste. There's an olfactory coffee roaster going on. The coffee taste is strong, but unlike so many coffee stouts I've had, these guys know how to do coffee beer. A little bit thin on the mouthfeel and perhaps a little long on carbonation, but all in all this is great stuff.

By the way, the Pretzels at THT: Best. Appetizer. Ever.

This beer arrived a dark brown, nearly black color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes slowly leaving rings of lacing down the glass. The aroma is of roasted malt, coffee, and milk chocolate. The taste is similar to the aroma. It is very well balanced between the roasted malt and the coffee with the chocolate component twisting through everything. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a silky texture, and appropriately moderate carbonation. Overall, this is a very well crafted beer. I will surely be making this a regular when I'm drinking at Town Hall Tap.

this beer is no longer retired apparently... 12oz on tap at town hall tap

look is a dark red amber, almost black with a silky tan half finger head. smell is coffee grounds, cocoa powder, and dates. taste follows, dry and powdery medium feel is the highlight of the drink

tasty porter with milk stout characteristics, the dak fruit I could do without, but the velvety malts more than make up for it. reccomended.

A- This beer looks terrific. Thick off white head atop a black beer. Head retention and lacing are amazing,

S- Coffee.

T- Coffee up front. Silky smooth. Just great. One of the best porters I've ever had. Oatmeal stout-y finsh.

M- Watery at first, the carbonation shows up at the end.

D/O- This is awesome. Best of both worlds, coffee and porter. I could just drink a ton of this.

Had this at the Town Hall Tap on opening day.

Served in an imperial pint glass... Hell yea!!!

Served with 1/2 finger of khaki tan head. Color is a dark copper brown, nearing black. Good lacing left.

Aroma: Fresh coffee/java flavors, a nice dark roast, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate show. A bit bitter.

Taste: Roasted malts, coffee/java, vanilla, caramel, and chocolate. Similar to the nose. Some creaminess here.

Mouthfeel: Roasted and creamy with some bitterness. Medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Ends dry and roasted.

Overall, a nice coffee porter. Solid flavors and pretty drinkable. A great first beer at the tap!
