Acquired at DLD. Thanks to WarriorSoul for the nod in the right direction, and to MeLikeBeer for the growler. Kick ass!
Poured into my brand spanking new FFF Nonic glass purchased at the previously mentioned DLD.
Huge white frothy head with great retention. Abundant whispy lace. Murky semi-transparent orangish-lightly burnished copper color.
Nice nose. Grapefruity with a nice oily hop punch.
Huge hop taste. Quite bitter. Some maltiness makes it's way through, but the hops soon overtakes it at every sip. Citrusy pithy bitter. Piney and dry.
Big carbonation and a very dry finish. Lip smackingly drinkable.
I was expecting huge over the top flavors and aromas with this being a top 20 beer. What I got was a very solid, nicely drinkable American IPA. Nothing to be ashamed of there. Nothing at all.
Serving type: growler
