Growler into an Unibroue tulip; big thanks to Hopstoopid120 for sharing this obscure treat.

A: Clear, dark persimmon body with a 3/4" head of creamy light-brown foam. Very nice retention and lacing, especially given the fact that the growler is months old. Lovely.

S: The Jack Daniel's comes through big time, with vanilla, oak, and whiskey on top of some caramel malt. A little tartness, but this seems more likely to be from the dark fruit flavors in the malt than any latent QC problems (the rancid sourness of Port Odin is in the back of my mind with this one, but luckily Wee Jack is far, far better than that). Nice.

T: Rich + sweet, with plenty of toffee, vanilla, whisky, and dark fruit. Smooth + delicious.

M: Smooth medium body, light carbonation. Nice enough.

O: Solid, drinkable barrel-aged ale. I had a couple glasses out of the growler, and could have had more. Tasty stuff - not quite on the level of Czar Jack, but excellent nonetheless.

Cheers!

Poured into a pint glass. Big thanks to BCGabbo for this.

3.5 A: Deep deep amber mahogany color. About one finger of frothy near white head that falls quickly and leaves just a couple small islands of lacing.

3.5 S: The nose is pretty subtle for the style. There's only a mild caramel and toffee character with sweet dark fruits (plum, raisin, fig) accompanying. Malts are lightly bready and perhaps a touch grainy. The Jack is barely detectable. I might have not even noticed it had I not had a priori knowledge. There's a decent vanilla component, the the oak and especially the whiskey is barely there. The aroma doesn't really open up much as this warms. It's just straight up weak, but pleasant.

3.0 T: The taste is more of the same - weak, but pleasant. The caramel and toffee are again much weaker than the style dictates. There are a light plum, light raisin, and even lighter prune components. The Jack comes through a bit stronger in the taste, but that is mainly due to the weakness of everything else. Vanillins and oak are present in moderate amounts and the actual whiskey lends a boozy melon flavor.

3.0 M: This might be the most disappointing part of this brew. I usually associate the style with rich and creamy mouthfeels, but this is nowhere near that. Lighter medium, borderline light body. Good moderate carbonation. Needs to be creamier. Super easy going down though.

3.0 D: I must say I'm thoroughly disappointed. This smells, tastes, and feels like a Wee Heavy Light. Light on the carmelized malts, light on the dark fruits, and light on the body. I was expecting much better given the quality of the other Town Hall beers I've had.

Growler shared by Bobby

A: This one pours a dark amber, perhaps copper, color with a minimal off-white head.

S: Incredibly sweet and fruity. I don't get a ton of the barrel/spirit character out of this one, but it's good. Apples, pears, and golden raisins all seem to be there as well as a bit of honey and toffee.

T: Sweet caramel and brown sugar with a fairly strong alcohol character. Touches of vanilla and charred barrel, too. Nice and fruity with some apples (and apple juice) and golden raisins, mild spices and peat, too.

M: The body is medium with the carbonation being on the low end of medium.

D: Much too heavy on the fruit and apple juice qualities.
