There are some things in life I'll never be able to figure out...garden gnomes...techno music...Ben & J. Lo....why I put off visiting this fine brewpub for 5 years...
Now that I've seen the light, I check in here once or twice a week, and regular as clockwork when they have burger-&-a-pint (cask not included) for only $5. And what pints, too! Always 5 sturdy standbys, plus up to 3 seasonals and 2 on cask. I've rarely been disappointed by any of their beers, (just had a Black H20 Oatmeal Stout not 15 minutes ago...yum...), but must recommend the Masala Mama IPA highly for all hopheads. The Scotch and Golden Ale are also must-try's.
The food here is just good enough, and sometimes very excellent, but you're not coming for the food, are you?
Service, excellent, and quite knowledgeable on the beers. Plenty spacious, with a long bar, plenty of tables, ample room in the back, a pool table, plus patio seating in summer, with plenty to gaze at in this college neighborhood.
I would urge you to avoid the late nights if you have any aversion to smoke, cacophonous chatter, and the twittering and buzzing of barely-legal co-eds getting they drink on.

almost 2 years after my first beerfly, I concur with myself, only the beers are even better, with new, more creative brews coming out at a phenomenal pace. I've also become more impressed with the output of the kitchen, and with the top-notch service.
Also, thanks to the smoking ban in Hennepin County, you need not fear the interference of pipe/cigar/cigarette pollution in the enjoyment of your imbibement.

They make their own beer and it is usually quite good. They also have several guest taps and have a selection of up to 10 ciders on tap that usually include a few that you can not find anywhere else in the area. The food is good.
