the length of the room is dominated by a long wood bar, with the rest of the space occupied by an assortment of 2 and 4 seat tables and a couple larger ones. there's also a patio outside for when the weather is nice. the bar has a big brass tower at each end with 12 taps on each and also has a pair of hand pumps for their cask conditioned beers in the center of the bar. if you somehow grew tired of the beer (which i have trouble picturing), there's an assortment of about 40-50 single malts as well as the usual bar fare.
as for beer, it's pretty much all their own (with a single guest tap, and a couple bottles). on the day of my visit the selection was their bright spot ale, west bank pub ale, masala mama ipa, hope and king scotch ale, and black h2o oatmeal stout. then there's the three seasonals, the irish porter, maibock, and india brown ale. finally we have the two cask conditioned beers, the masala mama ipa and merlot stout. i tried a bunch of them and took home a couple growlers and wasn't dissapointed by any of it.
the main room is kind of old and "worn", but very cozy. the outer wall is brick, and the main bank of windows is topped by a series of shelves containing an assortment of different growlers.
the staff was very helpful, answering the few quesitons i had about the beer easily. they were attentive, but not annoying. i spent the afternoon there, beginning with lunch, then some sampling, and ending after my wife and a couple friends joined us and we all had dinner. the staff left me alone most of the time, checking on me as my glass neared empty, and quickly stopping by when i was finished. i was very happy with the service.
the food was another bright spot too. i had a burger for lunch and our table had an assortment of dishes for dinner and we were all quite happy with them. the price was right and the food was great.
overall i was very happy with my visit to the town hall and will make a point to visit again whenever i'm in the twin cities.

Just had beers and didn't try the food. The service was pretty slow and I was sitting at a table since there were no bar seats available, so I didn't get to ask for samples of a few beers before ordering.
There was redemption for this in two of the beers I had, the Masala Mama, which was very good, and the Raspberry Mocha Porter nitro pour, which was good and refreshing. It seems this place makes some great beers and likes to experiment, something I appreciate.
The prices are reasonable, $5-7 a pour, and there are a number of guest beers on tap as well.
I can't comment on the food since I didn't try it.
