I looked in my profile and couldn't believe I hadn't reviewed MTH after the dozen-plus trips I've made there.

A bar that runs nearly the length of the room with huge wood backbar stylized to make you think the place has been there for a lot longer than their decade or so. There is also a nice patio for seating in the temperate months. There is another room beyond the bar - but I've never sat there.

Table service can leave something to be desired. I've had great table servers and lousy ones here. Service at the bar has always been spot on for me.

Selection is great. Like most, I love the Masala Mama IPA, especially when it is on cask. I think the real attraction at Minneapolis Town Hall is the never-ending rotation of seasonals, some of which don't last more than a week or so. I have had many beers that may not be my favorite style, but never a bad beer. Some of my favorite seasonals I've had include the Merlot Stout, the SFO (a California common), and the Smoked Dunkelweizen. They even have specials on the new-releases, usually Wednesdays from 5-6. (I have yet, however, to make any of the release specials - darn job 90 minutes away!)

The food is top-notch pub fare with some imagination for flair (jalapenos in the tartar sauce that comes with the fish and chips, for instance). Prices are reasonable with most sandwiches in the $7-10 range and dinner entrees $10-15.

This is a must-stop locale in the Twin Cities. I try to get my family and friends to stop each time I'm in Minneapolis.

Just had beers and didn't try the food. The service was pretty slow and I was sitting at a table since there were no bar seats available, so I didn't get to ask for samples of a few beers before ordering.

There was redemption for this in two of the beers I had, the Masala Mama, which was very good, and the Raspberry Mocha Porter nitro pour, which was good and refreshing. It seems this place makes some great beers and likes to experiment, something I appreciate.

The prices are reasonable, $5-7 a pour, and there are a number of guest beers on tap as well.

I can't comment on the food since I didn't try it.
