The wife and I were staying at the Kennedy School and I decided to walk across the street to this market and check out the beer offerings. Made it just before their closing time, 10pm on a Saturday night.
This is a vast, clean and airy supermarket, kind of like the Whole Foods of Portlandia. The beer aisle can't be missed. Lots of Oregon/Pacific breweries, including Oakshire, Hopworks, Pyramid, HUB, Good Life, Deschutes, Hair of the Dog, Three Creeks, Pelican, Gigantic, Breakside... tons of 6- and 4-packs as well, from brands such as Full Sail, Lagunitas (Sucks), Elysian...
Nothing rare or special (no Abyss, for example), but they did have a Dogfish World Wide Stout for ten bucks. I dig it. Get some food as well! Fresh or packaged, there is a lot of good stuff here.
Most (if not all) of the beer is refrigerated, and they have specials. When I was in, 20% off all Oregon brews for Superbowl 2014 (Seahawks-Broncos).
No "beer guy" here, but super friendly folks at the registers. A store worth browsing if you're in the area.

This is a great neighborhood grocery store featuring whole and natural foods without the national chain store feel. Very friendly, bustling atmosphere. Visited my son who lives in that neighborhood on December 30 to watch the Huskies in the Holiday Bowl and went to the store to buy pizza and snacks. Was very pleasantly surprised by the beer selection which was very impressive for a grocery store. They had several beers on sale so bargains can be had at times. I picked up a bottle of Deschutes Hop Henge for $3.99 which is an awesome price. They also had Racer 5, my favorite IPA in six packs that were quite fresh. Nearly all the beer is kept in refrigerated cases that run one side of nearly a full aisle. Saw some things not often seen. Wish I had a store like this in Salem, Oregon.

This used to be my neighborhood New Seasons and is just across the street from Concordia Alehouse. Between the two locations, one can have pretty much all of their beer buying needs taken care of.
Considering that this is a grocery store first, it's rather amazing to see the kind of beer selection this place has here. Beer takes up an entire aisle and everything is kept cold. The layout is kind of interesting; on the top shelf there are bombers and singles of unusual imports and craft beer. The next shelf contains 6 packs and on the bottom you can find 12 packs and more 6 packs. Yes, there is the usual selection of local micros (terminal gravity, deschutes mirror pond, sierra nevada, etc.), but you can also find more unusual things here as well, like the trumpeter stout, abyss and pelican IPA. Prices here tend to be quite reasonable, the best I know of in town actually. While service here is pleasant and polite, obviously it's nothing like the kind of service and beer knowledge one finds at Belmont Station and Bottleworks. So you're pretty much on your own in that department.
Sigh... just thinking about this place reminds me how much I miss my old neighborhood.

Part of the small but ever-growing New Seasons grocery chain in the Portland area. Located in NE Portland's Concordia neighborhood at NE 33rd/Killingsworth, this store has a dedicated beer and wine aisle overseen by a friendly and generally well-informed staff.
The quality and selection of beers are both good. All the Oregon/NW micros are usually available, with seasonals rotated in frequently. I've started to see more choices from through the West Coast/Rockies and a few from Midwest. There is also a nice assortment of Belgian, German, British Isles, and Asian beers.
Prices are generally reasonable and one nice thing I've found is that they'll sell singles from a multi-pack without a mark-up (i.e. take a single from a $7.99 six-pack & they charge 1/6th, or $1.33; other places might charge $2 or more).
Generally, a nice place to shop, worthy of their tagline "the Friendliest Store in Town".
