this basic blonde ale appears to be one of the more popular beers in this place, which seems to be brewing more basic styles than experimental stuff, but its nice to have some staple beers in the lineup. this is a solid summer beer, refreshing with a nice light body, ample carbonation, and quite a fresh cereal grain profile of pale barley malt. its right on point for the style in terms of aroma and taste, a little bland perhaps for some palates, but fresh and well done for a very simple brew. designed to be light, a real patio beer, and i had one in exactly the right context out on their patio, so it made sense for me. almost no hops to speak of in this one, and i does finish a little sweet with nothing there to balance it out in the end, but i see this as a mass appeal high volume summer brew, and i think it is successful on those grounds. this was better than the other beers i had here, which seemed to me to be a bit under flavored. hard to get real aroused from a basic american blonde, but this is a fine example of the style.

Had on tap at the taproom. Pours pale gold with a thin white foam collar. Faint hops on the nose with light malts. Has a light, grainy palate that is slightly sweet with a moderate bitter accent on the finish. Medium light body, medium carbonation.

A - Poured out a clear, golden-yellow color with a small, crackly white head of foam. it left very little lacing.
S - There were light floral notes with aromas of grains and caramel sweetness.
T - Tasted of caramel and grasses. Slightly vegetal. Not much spice or bitterness.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light bodied ale with a clean finish.
O - This is a okay blonde ale. It just didn't deliver enough for me though.

Golden color to the dark side of gold. Light foam head is being broken up by a substantial amount of prickle. Strong nose of grains. There is definitely a wheat presence and some other grains I am too inept to identify. The attack is mostly grainy but there is a noticable malt body to this one. I enjoy that malt presence in what is a "lighter" beer. There is a little bite in this one as well as there is a little magic going on with the hops and grain synergy. The finish comes on with some maltiness and then an aftertaste that leaves a mouthfull of grains. Very good for the style even though its not "my style." The name says blond, but in my notes I wrote that I was betting that it would classified as a pilsner when I got online. I was wrong, but it seemed to drink like a pilsner. Reduced amounts of prickle after the initial pour out of the growler allows the foamy white head to stay on the subsequent "pints."
