Very mild stout - even my lady enjoyed it, which says something. Partly due to the low abv of 5.5%, and mild bitterness - 25 IBUs. I would call it a session stout; full of flavor but easy on the palate.

I was happy to see Oatmeal Stout on cask. As with most beers at Great Waters, it is served in a standard straight-sided pint glass.
The beer is black with a medium brown head. Not much light gets through this one.
The nose is of roasted malts, dark fruit and brown sugar. There is something a bit dusty in the finish.
The taste leads with a touch of alcohol, some woody notes and then malts with an aftertaste of something sour. There is a bit of raisins and rum. Not sure, but I'm guessing this may be past its prime. It was hard to finish as the beer becomes harsher & solvent like as it warmed.
The mouth is a soft but drinkability is impacted by some of the beers flaws.
I would like to resample on another visit. This was the only real miss during my visit and tastings
