12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 1/14/2015. Pours hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Incredible appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light banana, clove, wheat, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops, pale malt, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light banana, clove, wheat, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-monderate pine/grassy bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, light pine, light banana, clove, wheat, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness and complexity of citrus hops, bready malt, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent hoppy pale wheat ale style. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus hops, pale malt, and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. (1,655 characters)

Everything about this beer clicks, from the amber beer under thick foamy head to the bright nose full of tropical hops, right down to the terrific taste that amongst the piney blast is just a bit of spice. Only knock? It's very thin. Otherwise, nice offering indeed. (267 characters)

I picked up a bottle of Saugatuck's Starbust Wheat last week for $1.59 at The Lager Mill. I'm always down to try a new beer from Saugatuck and since it's the time when brewerys start to release their wheat beers I thought i would give this one a try, so lets see how it goes. Bottled on 1/14/15.. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a imperial pint glass.

A- The label looks good, it's got a nice design to it and it's eye catching. It poured a nice slightly gold orange color that took on more of a brighter amber orange color when held to the light with one and a half fingers worth of bubbly off white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some spotty and patchy lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the fruits being the first to show up with some nice orange juice like aromas coming through and it's quickly followed by some tropical fruit and citrus fruit hops that make for a nice pineapple orange juice like aroma with just a slight bit of floral and green hops showing up in the background. Up next comes a slight bit of doughy yeast with some some sweet malt, bready, pale malts ans wheat aromas coming through. This beer has a good aroma, I like the way the hops worked with the base beer.

T- The taste seems to be pretty similar to the aroma and it starts off with a just a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the that same nice mixture of oranges and fruity hops making for a nice pineapple orange juice flavor and there's still a light amount of green and floral hops showing up in the background. Up next comes a slight bit of doughy yeast with the malts showing up also and they impart the same aspects that they did in the aroma, but they are a little lighter. On the finish there's a higher amount of light bitterness with a nice hoppy and orange pineapple juice like flavors showing up in the aftertaste. This is a pretty nice tasting beer, the hop profile works nicely with the base beer.

M- Smooth, a little crisp, a little refreshing, on the very light side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel was good and it worked well with this beer, I have no complaints.

Overall I thought this was a good beer and I thought it was a pretty nice example of the style, it had just about everything that I look for in the style with the hops showing up nicely and they worked nicely with the base beer to make for a good combination. This beer has good drinkability, it's smooth, a little crisp, a little refreshing, not filling and the taste does a nice job at holding my attention, I could drink a few of these especially when the weather is warmer. What I like the most about this beer was the hop profile it was pretty nice and it worked great with the base beer. What I like the least abouit this beer was nothing, there isn't anything I disliked or would change, it's fine just the way it is. I would buy this beer again, especially when in it gets warmer outside and I would recommend this beer. All in all I was happy with this beer, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but in the end I thought the different aspects worked well with each other and it made for a tasty beer. It's one of the better Saugatuck beer's i've had and it's one of the better example of the a hoppy wheat ale that I've had. Good job guys, I enjoyed this beer, keep up the hard work. (3,508 characters)

Cloudy gold pour with lots of citrus hop in the nose. Smells of fruit and wheat (like a hefeweizen) come through a little. Taste is hop forward, but the wheat kicks in a takes over a bit. Body of this one is nice and slightly silky.

Overall, this beer becomes too wheat focused after the first few sips - tastes like a 312 with a hop nose. Good variety in the Saugatuck lineup, but not up to the wheat pale ale standard that other breweries have set. (451 characters)
