This is one of my semi-regular spots around the Fall River area. The beer selection isn't too bad overall - average New England brews from Otter Creek, Long Trail, Magic Hat, Buzzards Bay, etc. along with DFH standard fare, sierra nevada, some unibroue, and so on. The bomber selection is expanding gradually; right now there's some Arrogant Bastard, Ruination, Hercules, Saison Du Pont, Chambly Noir, and the current Harpoon Barrel Series beer. None of the staff ever really bothers me, but I usually don't spend a huge amount of time deciding. For me, its the place I go to deposit my empties and pick up something with the refund discount.

Prices are OK, but have always found the place untidy and poorly kept. Selection is small, but a bit of variety. Staff is helpful, didn’t think they were particularly knowledgeable. The turn off for me is the chaos and general untidy nature of the place. Plus it smells like a grungy liquor store - that cruddy mixture of alcohol, wet cardboard and mold going on. Not high on the list.

This place isnt bad, but it isnt all that great either. The staff is very friendly and courteous, but not particularly knowledgeable about beer. The selection is pretty limited, all the usual popular craft beer is represented very well (Sam adams, DFH, sierra nevada, etc.) This place has a newly added rack of craft beers in the front of the beer section, which is a nice attempt on their part to put more effort into the craft selection. I definitely thanked them for this when i walked in. But, still second fiddle to yankee spirits in swansea which is literally 5 mins down the road.

one good thing about this place is that they actually stock a more comprehensive selection of berkshire brewing company (one of MA's nicest micros) than yankee does. Lots of bombers in the cooler. The only time i stop in here is when i feel like some BBC river ale (yankee doesnt carry it)

I stopped in here the other day while I was delivering some used auto parts to a nearby place. Ugh.

Walked in and liked the store's layout. Spotted the wine section and made my way in the opposite direction. Rather big beer section that's utterly dominated by mainstream brews. It's actually rather jam-packed and felt like a tiny, cutesy maze. The import and craft sections carry the average stuff. I saw Duvel, a bit of Unibroue, some Arrogant Bastard, some German brews - and all of it is in the cooler. You'll find the singles separated from it's ilk, but it's no pain.

My suggestion is to pass it by, unless you just want your regular favorites.

Visit this store if I'm ever passing by and need to grab something. Not my regular store by any means. Still, decent selection if you're in the area. More than an average package store. Good, though limited, selection of craft beers. Pretty standard stuff, the usual suspects. Store is crowded and difficult to browse with other people in the store. Prices are average, nothing special.

If you need a craft beer fix and you're in the fall river area, not a bad stop. You'll get some imports and micros. Still, keep going to Yankee Spirits if you seek the holy grail.

I lived in Swansea for years as a kid. Then the other day I thought where can you buy beer in Swansea? They have one place but it has Coors and Bud signs all over the place. Then i thought....I never been in Somerset liquors before. Since I have been liquor store shopping for the past 2 months, I stopped in.
Not bad, not bad at all. Nice guy at countered spoke to me about Sam Adams. Place seems organized and clean. Stacks of beer cases were on display. They had some German ales, not much though. Had Sam Adams Triple Bock. I ended up buying buzzard bay limited 6pack. Same beer that is shows on the home page of beer Advocate (as of today). Blue Moon, but that is by Coors, Lots of Sam Adams in stock. Nothing that stood out to me though. I might stop in a few months from now to see if anything is new. I was not impressed though.

I stopped in on 12/30/06. Everything seemed neat and clean. Prices were reasonable, however there were a few item that seemed a bit over-priced. It was kind of busy, so I really didn’t partake in any service, but it looked like everyone was making an extra effort to help people and keep the shelves stocked.

I was shocked to see a healthy display of Stone brews. Aside from that the selection was just average, mostly local brews with DFH, Sierra Nevada, Boulder, Lagunitas and a few others. The imports selection is almost non-existent. However, you can see that there’s at least some effort to get quality craft brews in along with the local stuff.
