22oz. bomber into pint glass.

Pours a medium orange with a golden tint. White head, with fair retention, leaves decent lacing. Has a floral hoppy smell, with more floral flavors, also some citrus and a bitter, lasting after taste. Good carbonation, medium body. A very enjoyable IPA all in all.

A- OK, in the air it looked like a good beer, but my buddy and I are sure the explosion only got to about the 2 meter mark.......my cupboards, counter, kitchen floor and carpet all thank the good people at Eugene City Brewery for the massively over carbonated beer! After a good while, the 200 ml or so that was saved looks very yeasty and muddy...and the head is still there, and actually stays in tact....looks like a very creamy coffee but a little more transparent!

S- Very sweet malt and aromas of a brewery...wait that is my home! There is balancing aromas of citrus like hops, toffee, molasses, hints of butterscotch and heavy malt!

T- This actually has a great taste! Yeasty citrus flavors dominate the palate, with flavors of sweet malt, caramel, and a smooth bitterness on the finish. Not much more to say!

M/O- Medium/Full bodied with very luscious carbonation! A great beer to enjoy and much different than I expected. I would have loved to have had more than maybe a fifth of this bottle but I do recommend this one and think it could be slightly less bubbly...its not sparkling wine!

Served from the 22 oz. bottle into a nonic pint glass

A- Poured a mostly clear copper color with some visible carbonation, a two finger fluffy head that left lots of cascading lace

S- Mostly citrus and caramel malt, I get some soapiness that I usually associated with older IPAs or APAs

T- A lot of soapiness, citrus notes, and caramel notes. Non-descript bitterness from middle to finish. Tastes like this may be past its prime, but no bottle dating

M- Some prickly carbonation, lighter to medium body, finishes semi-dry

O- I don't this is that far past expiration if it is. It does remind me more of an APA than an IPA though. Just nothing too interesting going on here.

Appearance - Pours a medium amber brown with about 1/2 a finger width of foamy white head. Quite hazy.

Smell - Pine, grapefruit, orange. Very sweet smelling aromas.

Taste - Nice pine and floral flavours from the hops. There's a hint of the grapefruit/citrus flavours as well. Leaves a pleasant bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light carbonation. Nice smoothness.

Overall - An enjoyable IPA from Eugene City. Perfect level of hops flavour and well balanced with the citrus notes. One that I enjoy quite a lot and would buy again.

Appearance: dark orange in color with a 1/2" head that breaks apart quickly.

Smell: orange and a decent hop bitterness is detectable by the nose.

Taste: caramel, pears, orange, a bit of pine, and a nice bitterness are the main flavor components.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Crisp at the start, less crisp and a bit dry at the finish. Aftertase is short lived.

Overall: easy drinking IPA that provides some refreshment too. Worthy of a try.

A= Cloudy golden body with a big off-white head.

S= The aroma is grapefruit, orange and pine.

T= Same as the nose, big on citrus and pine. Pretty bitter. I was looking for more balance and I didn't really care for the strong backbone on this beer either. To me there was nothing really special about th9is beer.

M= Pretty typical body, some stickiness.

D= With so many outstanding IPAs to choose from, I don't see myself buying a bottle any time soon.

I'm getting AB-esque feelings about this, since when I see a new offering, and only find out later about its actual (somewhat obfuscated) production origins, I'm usually surprised, in a disappointed way. In this case, though, it's Rogue, so, I'm yours to win or lose...

This beer pours a cloudy pale golden orange colour, with two fingers of foamy, rocky white head, which leaves some nice webbed lace around the glass as it slowly settles. It smells of pine, grapefruit, and floral hops, with a subtle biscuity, caramel malt undercurrent. The taste is bitter leafy pine hops right up front, quickly countered by an overmatched biscuity, bready malt, and some mildly medicinal herbal hops bring up the rear. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium weight, a tad spritzy, but generally smooth and tame. It finishes on the dry side, the heft of the astringent pine hops too much to avoid any other outcome.

A more or less one-sided, but still well-made, West Coast IPA, geared towards the wont of hopheads. As a willing minion, I say: Rogue, or whatever - more, please!

Yesterday I tried the 100 Meter ale and was greatly impressed. Now for the IPA.

I went for the Fin Du Monde glass again as the experience yesterday was great and I hope to recreate it with this sister beer. The bottle emits a healthy pop as I open it op and the head is great (as in large). The beer is a cloudy deep golden color and the head is off white toward yellow. Huge head here and the lacing looks great as the head finally dissipates.

Smell is led by hop fruit and pine but the malt is there too.

I am going to abbreviate this re=view in light of the fact that I am BBQing again and my smells are tainted.

Taste is fruity zand tangy. A bitterness sets in as the aftertaste lingers.

Mouthfeel is on the light side of full but very nice and sparkly along with the dry finish.

Drinkability is good but could be better if not quite so hoppy.

Hop heads will really get this one but I am a recovering hop head so I think a bit better balance is in order.

Slainte.

Pours a pale golden amber with a thin head. Heavy mango aromas, and a fair dose of malt sweetness in the nose as well. Interestingly, the taste is quite a bit different. Very bitter with pine flavors and a lot of sticky malt. A bit prickly in the mouth, but not bad. Definitely a different take on an IPA, but not all that seemless.

From a 650 ml brown bottle, label states abv as 6.5% Pours out a hazy apricot hue, noticeable suspended particles. Frothy creamy white head that settles to a thick cap.

Light sweet orange and citrus notes on the nose, some spicy pine and mild bready malt. Alcohol is present, along with strong leafy herbal hops.

Starts off mild and clean in the flavour, light bready malt at first, gets a bit rough around the middle as sharp herbal hops are introduced,
then a more spicy earthy pine character follows, finishing with some sharp biting alcohol and hop bitterness. The bitterness tends to dominate any real distinct flavour towards the end.

Medium-bodied mouthfeel, smooth at first then slick and soapy in the end.

A bit too lop-sided flavour-wise, and as a result gets a bit boring after a while--I enjoy a good hop bomb, but without layering and some extra character it just becomes a one shot deal.

Somewhat hazy, golden colour with a big, fluffy white head. Good head retention and a little bit of lacing.

Crisp, hop aroma with a light crystal malt aroma. Decent.

Slightly rough bitterness with a nice piney, grapefruity hop flavour. Classic Rogue yeast character.

Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Not as crisp as it could be.

A decent AIPA but not the best I've had.

Really quite light for an IPA. Golden yellow. Very pretty! Ok head but really good lacing.

Good aroma, but you have to sniff hard for it, if that makes sense - not that pungent but plenty going on. Lots of citrus and pine, but also some sweeter fruits, maybe form the amarillo. Delicious. As with almost all AIPAs, some sweetness supporting the hops is present in the nose.

Personally, I love this taste. Plenty of citrussy hops with sweeter fruits there as well, maybe even a little passionfruit. A little malt sweetness, i guess the munich adds that richness. Definitely a hops story though. For the ABV, this is outrageously bitter. It punches you in the back of your tongue. A true hop heads delight.

Very good mouthfeel and drinkability, however the drinkability is impaired a little by how bitter it is. You need to wait a while to let that die down.

Pretty good beer. This one started to turn a little on me, I had it before, fresher. Looks like a gold amber IPA, smells the same. Taste is delic when fresh, still good when it has been aged a few months.

Was surprised that this was a little more English style than I expected, very well balanced as well. That usual piney and citrus bent to it. Not much for roasted malt bill. A good beer through and through.
