Picked this up at the Emelisse Brewery during Zeebra Fest. Pitch black pour with a nice three finger caramel-colored head with decent retention and lacing. Earthy, roasty nose with big bourbon notes along with hints of licorice, espresso, oak, leather, tobacco, and dark chocolate. The earthiness carries through to the taste with hints of bourbon, oak, coconut, tobacco, sweet cream, and vanilla. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and subtly creamy with a smooth, bittersweet finish. Overall, the barrel aging really came through on this one imparting a great deal of oak and bourbon.

APPEARANCE: Three finger, medium, creamy, light tan head with excellent retention. Same pour and body. Great retention, and slowly fades to a full wisp and coats the sides of the glass with lace. A splotchy wisp and ring remain and leaves some nice lacing down the glass. Good looking.
SMELL: Bolder nose of bourbon, oak, lots of vanilla, sweet cream and milk chocolate. Lightly roasted and pure dark chocolate as well. Hints or toffee, but lots of barrel and cream aromas. Very aromatic.
TASTE: Oak, milk chocolate, sweet cream and some bourbon up front, with more oak and sweet cream at the swallow. Big and lingering finish of oak, vanilla, coconut, milk chocolate, bourbon, some bitter, pure chocolate and a bit of roasted malts underneath. Very flavorful with lots of complex barrel flavors. Very nice.
PALATE: Medium body with medium levels of carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit mouth-coating.
OVERALL: Better than the rum version for sure. Lots of character with plenty of complexity worth pondering. Found this one more barrel friendly and better executed compared to the rum version for sure.

A Netherlands obscurity (on this side of the pond anyways) from the man, thanks Jeffo!
Appearance. Pours thick looking and blacker than black with a big three fingers of thick and creamy, espresso foam coloured head. Beautiful lacing.
Smell. Bakers chocolate and smooth sweet bourbon. Some nice barrel notes and a little coconut, licorice and booze.
Taste. Starts a little sweet, then bitter dark chocolate, vanilla and coconut, dark (maybe even juicy) fruits, more dry bitter chocolate and some smooth smokey sweet bourbon. A fair bit going on but it's so well intergrated.
Mouthfeel. Full body, creamy smooth medium-low carbonation.
Overall. Very well put together beer here. Thanks bud!!

Bottle shared by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad.
The beer is near black with a beige head. The aroma brings oak, roast, bourbon. Super easy drinking. Ridiculously smooth. Chocolate and roast. Palate coating. Rich,
flavorful. Euro style RIS. Tastes great. A delicious stout worth seeking out.
