Missed out on this and double dose the first time around, at least I got a shot at this one. Bottled on 11/18/13, about a month old, so not bad for a bottled beer from Vermont, and gotta love when the date the bottles. "Just chill, bro" is what he tells me, well OK then.

Pours a nice creamy foamy 1+ finger head that just sits there almost mocking me as it never leaves, I keep waiting for it to fade a bit to see how the lacing is and to get my aroma, but it teases me and never leaves. I give it some coaxing to fade and the lacing just sticks all over the glass continuing to mock me. The beer ends up a hazy darker carrot orange color.

Nose is quite nice too, that great fresh hop aroma, little floral, but into the resin and some citrus, a nice fluffy fruity hop aroma that beckons for more, a hint of candied orange peel, and a touch of juicy tangerine blend nicely with a little sweet candy like malt base.

Taste brings more of the nice hops, good hoppy hoppy hoppy, nice boy. Fresh hop flavors continue, with juicy fruit and plenty of it, again citrus but more on the mild side with a hint of tangerine and grapefruit pith, little candied orange peel but barely, touch of cammomile tea like floral hop. Then it turns bitter, fairly bitter, but not bitter cold bro, nice resin to stick the bitterness to the tongue, which also hints at a mild passion fruit interestingly, and more of that grapefruit rind character. Bitterness turns up the heat just as a mild sweet candy like malt comes through, but the malt doesn't get sweet or candy like, or at least I can't tell since the hops just keep kicking it down the more it tries to show it's head and attempt to balance it, although it does do somewhat decent job of a balance, nice fluffy malt base. Finish is pretty dry but slightly sticky, quite bitter too with more grapefruit pith, orange rind, little resin and floral hop character, and just a touch of that candy fluffy malt.

Mouth is med bod, nice fluffy popping carb that helps the tongue from getting too much of a bitter smash or sticky from the malts and resin.

overall pretty nice, great hop profile without going overboard, nice balance, malts are there nicely enough to give you a nice base without even getting remotely in the way of the hops, quite tasty and still drinkable. One of their best beers yet!

Came in a standard pint glass a slight hazed orange infused lighter golden with a bone white thinner but well sustained head atop.A mix of grapefruit-like hops and sharp rye mainly in the nose, light caramel/biscuit sweetness was detected as well.A big shot of sharp rye along with citric and resinious hops up front on the palate the hops are big but there is also a dryer bready base that holds up pretty well to the rye and hop onslaught.Alot of rye and hop flavors in this beer, really damn good.

Appears a clouded golden copper orange hue, with a thicket of off white head, intricate even lacing. Aroma has citrus bursts, apricot, hints of mango...hints of biscuit malt and dry yeast components. Let's see how it tastes, bitter, bitter, and oh yeah bitter. A wave of hops, big bitterness, lacks cohesiveness with a malt profile a bit of spicy rye in the backend, but more or less a wave of hops and finishes with bitter resins and dry yeast notes. Bottled 10/28/13 they have a bit of time on them but I think these bottles are just a bit over the top with dry hop bitterness, lacks malt sweetness, and balance. There is the spicy rye grassiness that only adds to the earthy bitterness and vegetal garlic/onion notes I'm getting it's like chewing on an everything bagel at this point. Mouthfeel completely drying bitterness, my mouth is a desert, waves of lingering bitterness ample soft carbonation resinous medium bodied ale. Overall, I appreciate the hops, but this cat who used to brew at DFH, needs to go do an internship on the West Coast to learn how to tame the hops or keep brewing collaborations with Lawson's Finest!!!
