12oz bottle. Bottled on and batch # on the back label. Pours a very pale golden brew with a touch of haze, moderate carbonation, and a a fizzy foam head that quickly settles to a thin bubble lace. Haze clears up as the beer warms.

Aroma is malty, with bready notes, and sweet colver polen floral hop nose beneath.

Smooth upfront. Surprisingly malty and rich (for the color), with a very unique touch of clover / honey-like sweetness, a wonderful bold toasted malt character with freshly baked bread crust flavors. Herbal, earthy and rind bitter flash, backed by a quick seltzer carbonation, provides a refreshing crispness. Flavors soften into light metallic notes, grain husks, some hop leaf in the feel, and a slight roughening of the palate. More bready notes at the finish with a residual light hop oil character.

A most quaffable and enjoyable lager, packed with interesting and complex flavors. In New England this is a rare treat, so kudos to Otter Creek for brewing a craft lager!

Presentation: 12 oz brown twist off bottle with bottled on date and batch # on the back label.

Appearance: Nice sticky lacing, fine clarity off of a bright and pale copper hue.

Smell: Very malty, dough aroma up front with mild toasted notes in the back. A clean herbal hop is noticeable as well.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Lots of malt flavour, solid medium body and real smooth. Malt sweetness is up there but the hops creep in right after the juicy wave of malt in the middle goes by. Toasted malt all around the palate. Herbal with a soft bitterness, the hop character lingers far into the finish.

Notes: Solid and tasty, nice to see an other New England lager that shines just as much as the multitude of ales.

A-Pours a clean, yellow color with a thick, fluffy, creamy head, head sticks around for the entirety of the pint.

S-Biscuity and cracker Pils malt. Grains and lager yeast. Light, grassy, Noble hop aromatics as well.

T-The Pilsner malt and the yeast combine to make a pretty genuine Euro Pils flavor. The hops are grassy and floral and softly spicy.

M-Light bodied, drinkable and built for Summer. Lively carbonation. Flavors don't linger. Refreshing.

O-A good take on the style. It succeeds at being genuine and also becomes forgettable in the process.

Pours a decent creamy fluffy 1+ finger head that fades at a med to slower pace, lots of thick soapy lacing, mostly clear watery straw colored.

Nose big time pilsner malts, straw, big straw, grassy, toasty, etc, with a nice noble grassy hop bite. Pretty nice actually.

Taste starts similarly, lightly sweet toasty grainy pilsner malt, lots of straw and grainy pilsner malts, touch bready doughy like, grassy, etc. Then nice noble hop grassy hop flavor, touch spicy, fair to a bit lighter bitterness, nice soft lager notes. Finish is dry and a bit crisp, long lingering grassy noble hops that turn a bit spicy, touch more straw malts.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, lots of nice carbonation.

Overall very nice actually, one of their best made beers yet, very well done to the style, nice noble hop bitterness and grassy flavors, nice straw toasty pilsner malts, no real flaws, even a little lager crispness and softness, just lacking the decoction complexity to really go over. Otherwise this is like a perfect summer lager made in America.

Hard pour into an American pint glass yields a straw-gold colored brew with a slightly hazy clarity and a rocky, 1.5 inch, bright white head. Nose is clean with some light, bready notes and a hint of lemon and yeast. Taste follows nose - very clean with only a suggestion of noble hops at the finish and perhaps a trace of butter (diacetyl?). Mouthfeel is light in body with an easy carbonation, but lacking the crispness I've come to associate with the style. Overall, very pleasant and drinkable although it departs slightly from the style with regards to the body and finish in my opinion.

Recipe was changed this year...

A: Straw golden with a 1 finger white head and lively carbonation

S: Fresh cut grass and hay.

T: A hoppy German pilsener. Hopped with Apollo, Hallertau, and Tettnang. Grassy hop profile with a bready malt flavor and dry finish. Adding some more spiciness would really make this great. Tastes like a more tame Prima Pils.

M: Light bodied slight lingering bitterness.

O: Crisp and refreshing pilsener. Great for summer.
