Poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.

Appears golden hay in color. One finger of frothy head.

The aroma does showcase a little of the citra hops, but it doesn't hit you hard. The cracker/biscuit malts are just as prominent in the aroma. Generally smells bright.

Just like the aroma, its flavor is also a balance of faintly citrusy hops and cracker-like malts. Grassy up front, but husky dry grain sits prominently on the palate. It hints at notes of corn, but those seem to quickly fade (thankfully). Some spicy bitterness lingers, but it's not overwhelming.

Mouthfeel is appropriately crisp. Finishes dry.

Overall this is easy drinking with enough to please. I may be a bit tainted by the hopper lagers from Jack's Abby which this does not live up to. However, I can't say for sure what Otter Creek was going for here. If they were going for a more balanced approach, they succeeded. But if they were trying to showcase citra hops over a simple malt backbone, then they could have turned up the late addition hops more. I feel that when brewers choose to use Citra, they typically want to showcase it because geeks love it. It's rare that I find Citra in a balanced beer. But kudos to Otter Creek if that's what they were going for....balance is underrated and welcome...even to this hop head. This is a hoppy pils I'd rather drink over Prima pils.

12oz. bottle served in a shaker pint. Pours a translucent straw yellow with a fluffy, 1.5 inch bright white head that settles into a creamy, quarter inch cap. Textured clusters of lacing are revealed during the tasting. Nose expresses light citrus notes, including zest, and a grassy quality. Taste is really quite nice - sweet citrus followed by rind, yeast and a pleasant, herbal bittering at the finish. Mouthfeel is light and bright with a lively carbonation and a slight astringency. I love what Otter Creek has been doing with these one-offs. This beer gives JA's Hoponius Union a run for its money!

Interesting idea, IPL with citra, two big crazes, OC has also gone through phases I think... when I first found out about them I visited the brewery and the beer was great. Then they seemed to slide a bit and the beer was so-so for a while. Lately I think they've turned it around, so hopefully this is another winner.

Pours a pasty white fizzy slight fluffy almost 2 finger head that fades at a med pace, or tries to as some streaming bubbles reinforce it. It leaves a nice soapy lacing, over a fairly hazy slight clear golden honey colored beer.

Nose I could smell when I popped the top, and very much so on the pour, a nice big citra hop explosion, it's basically just citra in a glass, tons of citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, a mild tropical fruit mango papaya like thing going, a nice mild orange zest and clementine juice like aroma. Under that there seems to be a slight hint of a grainy toasty pilsner malt, but hard to tell. It also has a mild dank resinous hop aroma with fresh wet slight musty hop character.

Taste first brings the malts, big toasty grainy straw pilsner malt, a big malty flavor, little crackery even, slight juicy malt but no sweetness. Surprised how much the malt came through right off the bat, overpowering the hops that eventually come through. The citra is there again, but nothing like the nose as it seems muted from the malts. Again nice citrus, tangerine and grapefruit start off, with a mild musty resinous passion fruit and mango, mild rind and grapefruit pith, with overall fair bitterness. The hops turn quite bitter and spicy as it finishes really dry, not really crisp on the finish though, but nice and dry, quite bitter spicy hops with a mild grapefruit rind and hint of tropical fruit and resin lingering.

Mouth is med bod, soft and almost chewy, fluffy carbonation.

Overall not bad, the nose was great as it just presented lots of citra with a faint toasty malt underneath, the flavor however, brought way too much straw toasty malt to the front, although I normally love these flavors, it's hard to like them when they stomp on the delicious citra hops. However, they eventually come through and bring a nice harmony. The more I sip the more the malts seem to fade into the hops and it's more citra, but then they keep coming back a bit on the back end with more straw and grainy flavors. This is a good beer, but it could have been a great beer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a snifter. Purchased in Woonsocket, RI.

A- Pours a hazy dull gold color with a 2 finger head that reduces slowly to a layer of white foam.. leaves spotty lacing.

S- Grassy, floral, somewhat citrusy and soapy, some bread and malt.

T- Somewhat soapy, citrus, floral, sweet malt and biscuits on the finish.

M- Medium body and carbonation

Decent brew.. could put down a few but nothing to seek out considering all the citra hop beers on the market these days.

12oz bottle with a Botlled On Date of 010614. Pours a translucent golden color with almost no head. Some lacing. Aromas of citrus hops, bread, and grass. The taste is citrus hops upfront followed by some pine and floral notes. Bready malts with some orange peel towards the end. Pine and bitter orange peel finish. The bitterness increases with each sip. Light and crisp. I hate the label, but love the beer. Between this, Double Dose and Kind Ryed Otter Creek has really been putting out some really good hoppy offerings lately. Overall, drinkable and bitter, this is a good beer to have on hand often.

Bottled just under two weeks ago and poured into a pilsner style glass...

A - Light yellow color with a nice full one finger head that widdles down but still leaves a nice topper throughout. Great lace throughout consumption. Awesome looker

S - Grass, bread, crackers, pine, sunflowers

T - Mostly the same as the nose but the added bonus of citrus and hints of grapefruit. Pretty bitter yet nice and smooth at the end, good balance

M - High carbonation, light body, a little bite on the end of the palate

O - A high quality brew from Otter Creek. Walks the tight rope of a session pale lager and one to sit back and enjoy. Very balanced with good grassy pine characteristics and citrusy fruit. Well done!
