Citra Mantra pours a hazy straw yellow with a stiff, white head on top. The foam fades fast leaving a netted pattern of lace on the glass.

The aroma is loaded with orange and lemon citrus. A touch of tropical fruit and grass/hay is also present.

Each sip of this medium bodied beer is slightly chewy, soft with moderate carbonation. The flavor is much like the aroma. Orange and lemon citrus blended with some light fruit (peach, mango) and a little grass. Some cereal pale malt notes are noticed in the background. It finishes moderately bitter with lingering citrus when gone.

Another great new hoppy beer by Otter Creek. Very easy drinking and not too bitter.

Pours a bright golden yellow with a decent white head into my glass. I was pleasantly surprised to find this as I hadn't already heard about it.

A good touch of citra hops upfront bring aromas of mango and grapefruit to the table. Very clean.

Crisp and delicious with a wonderful dollop of mango, grapefruit and fresh-cut grass. It's phenomenal!

Finishes with lingering grapefruit and grainy malt textures. I can't get enough of it.

Brewmaster Mike is on a roll with yet another great beer! If you loved Kind Ryed, you will probably enjoy Citra Mantra. Tasty, highly drinkable and I'll be on the lookout for a 12 pack if a such thing comes around!

12 oz bottle poured into a shaker pint.

Appearance
Straw colored with 2 fingers of creamy, white head that dissipates slowly. Excellent clarity with low-moderate carbonation.

Nose
Peach, pineapple, passion fruit and mango.

Taste
Biscuits covered in table sugar along with dank florals. The sugary sweetness is diminishing the hops a bit. Touches of peach and pineapple linger underneath it all. Finishes with a good bit of pine resin with hints of tangerine pith.

Mouthfeel
Medium-light bodied, crisp, oily and dry.

Overall
I'm not really digging the malt profile on this one. It really isn't working that great with the Citra. It smelled great but the taste was a downer.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass

A- very clear, pale yellow color with a small white head that dissipates and leaves very nice lacing marks on the glass

S- The citra is huge in this, just a great smell when you put your nose up to the glass. Smells like a nice citrusy IPA to be honest. Slight sweet and piney smell as well.

T- I have really grown to enjoy citra hops and this really showcases them well. The body is thin and really drowned out by the hops, but it tastes oh so fresh. Love the unfiltered style and how drinkable this is.

M- crisp and drinkable with a very-light body

I love what otter creek has been doing with their latest offerings (Double Dose, kind ryed) they are taking huge steps in the right direction. I will continue to enjoy more of this nice and fresh.

Pours a single finger of pure white, firm head. Brew is very bubbly, and a glowing pale straw color. Nearly transparent up close. Retention is excellent, and lacing is broad and sticky.

Sells like a light IPA: soft citrus hops and a hint of cat pee. A little pine. Hint of sweet pilsner malts in the background. Gives a slight impression of honey. Slight wet dog aroma that hurts this beer a little bit.

Flavor follows the nose, with a heavy dose of Citra hops: lemon, pine, a little dank. Very sweet in a back-end way; I wouldn't call it sugary. Biscuit, thick pale malts. Good malt backbone.

Fairly light mouthfeel, but full of hoppy flavor. Really represents 55 IBUs exceptionally well. Drinkable but with a lot of balanced flavor.

This is a really similar beer to Hop Ranch. I like it better. This is a very, very tasty beer, showcasing Citra hops front and center.

Otter Creek - Citra Mantra, poured into a DFH Spiegelau IPA glass.

Look - Almost clear pale yellow with a touch of copper hue and a glorious soapy head. Abundance of lacing. Appearance is on point.

Smell - Lager yeast characteristics are a bit overwhelmed by an immense blast of Citra hops, but I love Citra so there you have that.

Taste - Citra explosion, good but wondering where the body is. This is an IPL/APL but maybe jack up the malt/abv a bit to give it some heartiness behind the bitter?

Mouthfeel - Rests juicy Citra bitter lighter bodied with low carbonation. Drinkable and crisp.

Overall - It is good and I'm loving Otter Creek's efforts lately, but I have to say that this doesn't hold a candle to the kings of lagering, Jack's Abby. With this much Citra i feel they should have added more malt body to even it out and boost the abv a bit, it would have resulted in a more well-rounded brew. It takes finesse but I'm confident that they will tweak it over time to make it better. I'd still recommend this because it's different and different is good!
