Cloudy sunshine golden hue with bright white head forming thick, the label and the case in bright orange makes you want to try a fresh slice. With Mike Gerhart rolling in his orange VW van, Clementine throwing up a peace symbol.
Aroma insane citrus fruit, orange/clementine/mandarin oranges strong spices complement the huge citrus nose sharp wheat and herbal hops. Very clean citrus peel nose that doesn't seem to fade away. As it warms I'm getting some actual spicy/herbal/citric hop notes as well as the bitterness from the oranges/clementines.
Flavor bitingly bitter citrus peel, tastes like the actual citrus peel/pith region versus the fruit notes, herbal hoppy accents are present as well with dry spice all day this is intense fruit beer. A citrus fruit infused white IPA, damn. It's bitter as hell with orange peel notes, not much hop flavors come through.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied natural carbonation, harsh bitter finish does not leave the palate alone this fresh slice of orange/clementine includes the oils from the peel.
Overall, I'm not a huge fan, I loved most of the brewmaster Mike's series from Otter Creek this however is out of my comfort zone too much harsh zest oils from the peel/pith to actually be enjoyed or balanced.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.
A: Pours a cloudy yellowish orange with a white head. A bit too hazy to really see any visible carbonation. Leaves some spots of lacing on the sides of the glass.
S: Initial hoppy aroma as soon as you take a whiff. Some citrus hops blend with the pale malt base.
T: Not as hoppy as anticipated from the aroma. Sizeable wheat backbone dominates most of the flavor. While there are some citrusy hops, they take a backseat to other flavors.
M: Medium body with ample carbonation. A touch sticky from the resinous hops but remains crisp and drinkable.
Overall as others have mentioned, Otter Creek set the bar pretty high with their first two of the Brewmaster Mike series. While this is by no means a bad beer it had big shoes to fill.
