Poured straight into an English pub glass, very dark, molasses color. Appeared very thin-bodied, head was very thin that soon dissipated.
Smell strongly of roasted coffee and cocoa beans. Hints of something that smells like coffee mate and hazelnuts. It's hard to smell anything besides the coffee because it is so pungent. Maybe some malts.
The taste is reminds me of black coffee, no sugar, with a little bit of whole milk. The beer prizes itself on being organic and I must say, it rings true through the taste. The flavors are not overly sweet or manufactured, but I could imagine someone feeling like it's under-flavored.
Thin-bodied but finishes off with a nice creamy feel.
Great beer, coffee is complimented with the creaminess perfectly. Must-try.
