Pours a copper coloured beer with orange hues. head is decent with a nice white cap that settles to a creamy foam lace ring. Alcohol, light spicy hops, bready in the aroma.

Nice mild citrus hop sting, with a cheesy hop character. Hops are also a bit spicy/herbal and meld with a light spicy alcohol presence. Body is medium, mouthfeel is smooth and even. Malt character is ample and sweetish, with earth and wood notes. Nice hearty, dextrin fullness. Some bready flavours in the background. Fruity and juicy around the edges.

Nice alcohol bite, balanced with a firm malt and defining hop character. Just a good, solid IPA in my book.

Presentation: 12oz short brown twist, on the neck states that this product is certified by the OTCO as organic. No freshness date.

Appearance: Pale amber in colour with a creamy bubbly sticky lace.

Smell: Raw hop aroma, rustic grain and mild fruit.

Taste: Rich mouth full of rounded grainy malt, raw intense hop and some fruity esters. Some chewiness shows the residual sweetness and dextrins, the hop bitterness and flavour cut the malt to be well balanced for an IPA.

Notes: Very rich and very tasty, and at 6.5% abv it warms the body a little.

Re-review:
This beer suffers from some inconsistency issues. I had two from a mix pack that had great juiciness. Then I bought a 6-pk, and the first bottle (only one month since bottling) is all malt and no hop. There's still a nice spice character on the finish, but it's not nearly as good as the two I had from the mix pack I got earlier this year. The nose is more corny than I remember too.

Original review:
Why are people hating on this beer? Let me guess... because it's not a huge, hyped, hop bomb brewed in a small, trendy brewery named Hill Fartstead?

I admit that this is not the best IPA I've ever had, but the people rating this in the 2's need to get off the hype wagon. This is not an American DOUBLE IPA, and it shouldn't be rated like one.

This beer is a subtle, solid IPA with a well-balanced hop and malt character that comes across in both taste and aroma. Subtle spice and juiciness on the finish, with hints of citrus (citra-like?) and tropical fruit (mosaic-like). Very lightly buttered for an IPA. Just amazingly solid and well-balanced.

The mouthfeel is also wonderfully carbonated and smooth. Crisp, fitting.

Finally, I like the 6.5% ABV. This beer is a great daily drinker. Session with a kick.

Don't hate on it because you can find it in supermarkets and it's not named Heady Topper.

very clean tasting bitter ipa. good amt of caramel malt shining through the hops but still hoppy as hell and balanced, clean tasting and a dark orange/amber red color, pretty foggy and unfiltered looking. just a nice one. slightly above average but not a mind blower

1st pick out of the Best Market Wifey 6 pack!

Nice clear reddish amber hue with a whopping, soapy, long lasting head that gave the glass a good lacing.

Moderately hoppy aroma that snuck past my ongoing sinus congestion!

Taste is definitely English IPA being that this brew is not brimming with hops or alcohol but has enough hoppy and malty flavour to justify it's classification.

Slightly sticky mouthfeel with subtle carbonation.

A GOOD English IPA and a GREAT session IPA. A perfect beer to spend a night with and not regret it in the morning! Definitely a repeat buy!!
