Appearance is a deep, dark brown with a ruby hue. The half finger of head dissipates quickly. There is certainly a presence of roasted malt in the nose. The upfront flavor is a combination of rye bread and roasted malt. The finish is mildly dry with a touch of bitterness for good measure.
Nothing off the hook here, but if you are looking for a good, honest, straight-forward porter, this is the one.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped with 3414-091212. Sampled on January 20, 2014 and I have to think it is well past its expiration date.
The pour is dark brown with a short-lived tan colored head. Great color.
The aroma is of dark malts, smoke, butter, and earthy hops.
The body is in the medium range with a creamy texture.
The taste is much like the aroma with a decent dark malt forward character, mild sweetness, burnt barley, and a fairly mild hop finale. A pretty well balanced Porter that is easy to drink.
