What an outstanding beer. All of the DIPA's coming out of Vermont have been quite a treat. But, what I am, happiest to say is: out of all the great ones (i.e. double sunshine, heady topper, & the multiple fiddlehead varieties), each is slightly different. This beer is no exception. SO flavorful. SO drinkable. Just generally delicious.

Cloudy orange tinged honey hue, half a finger of white head that dissipates pretty quickly, solid lacing in the Lawson's tulip.

Nice juicy aroma, ruby grapefruit and navel oranges come to mind, but there is an underlying whiff of alcohol present in the mix, more so than the malt.

Flavors are also juicy, following the nose, but the alcohol is also prominent, particularly in the aftertaste, as the bitter mingles with the alcohol on the palate.Relatively dry finish.

Mouthfeel is medium, brisk carbonation but not overdone. Warmth felt in the throat from the booze.

This is a solid collaborative effort that is better than the usual offerings from Otter Creek, but not quite as good as the exclusive Lawson's IIPAs (though it is priced very similarly to the premiums offered by LFL). Worth trying, very solid.

Otter Creek Brewing / Wolaver's / Lawson's Finest Liquids - Double Dose IPA, poured into a DFH Spiegelau IPA glass.

Look - Pours a hazy beautiful orange with a good sized foamy head that dissipates at a medium pace and retains some. Exceptional lacing.

Smell - Very aromatic DIPA! Blast of orange/tangerine/grapefruit citrus hops with a touch of caramel malt underneath. Some spice.

Taste - Creamy malt intro with juicy citrus riding in after, followed by bitter pine. Tangerine throughout.

Mouthfeel - Rests citrus sticky plus some hot malt, but not overly so. Warm throat boozy. Good drinkability. Well-balanced carbonation, medium-bodied.

Overall - This is a great brew and easily the best IPA Otter Creek has had a hand in creating.

Poured into a Lawson's tulip glass.

Appearance - Poured a gorgeous golden color with about a half inch of head. Very little lacing.

Smell - Hops, hops and hops. Tons of citrus notes. Reminds me of a west coast IPA.

Taste - Amazing. Absolutely loaded with hops with an abundant citrus flavor. Notes of grapefruit, pineapple and mango. Very juicy. Tastes somewhat similar to Double Sunshine. It has a light malt, not overpowering by any means. Good carbonation. Can taste the 8.5%.

Overall - An amazing collaboration beer between Otter Creek and Lawson's Finest Liquids. Definitely one of the best double IPA's that I have had. I'm just glad that it comes in a 4 pack!
