A - Clear straw with a loose head. Retention is NotBad.

S - Faint metallic hops smell and not much else.

T - Sweet-ish. Light bitterness and some grain taste.

M - Light mouthfeel.

D - Easy enough to drink. Not particularly interesting or tasty, but not bad either. I wouldn't be able to spot this one out of a lineup of pale euros and pils'.

Light gold in color with a fizzy short-lived head. The aroma is pungent and gross skunk! Yuck! I was hoping I might get a fresh bottle. Aroma is telling me obviously not, and you're an idiot for buying an import that's in a green bottle again. The skunk isn't anywhere near as strong in the flavor as in the aroma. It's still drinkable. The pilsener crispness is there with just enough hops for a slightly fun finish. I imagine this beer would taste pretty good and refreshing while fresh. But I doubt most of these green bottles sitting on shelves for months at a time are fresh.

Odd name for a beer isn't it or did I join the other team?.....Nah.
This product is very weak or maybe just disappointing. Light golden in colour with sparce crown which soon left leaving nothing.
The body is well carbonated but thin.
The taste has a grainy sweetness to it but not overpowering. There is some evidence of hops in the background but that is minor.
The nose does compliment the taste.

Pours a four finger white head that fades slowly and leaves some lace. Clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Grassy nose. Flavor is grassy, some hops with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Typical Euro pils. $2.15 for a 330ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

The aroma is a very strong grassy and nutty smell. Pretty distinctive, actually.

Taste is much of the same, with some grassy notes, but a definite nutty character as well. It may very well be of grain or barley, but it comes across nutty. There is a pretty mild bitter touch on the finish that is light for style. More nuttiness and perhaps barley hang around after the swallow.

For style, I can't say this is one of the better ones I've had. The tastes are just a bit off for me. More crispness and hop character would have been welcomed, and the flavor profile is a little odd.

Pours a golden color. The head fizzes away quickly. There doesn't see to be much carbonation in my bottle. Mild aroma of hops and malts. Nothing distinguished stands out. Taste is Fairly mild, with a bit of malts and a slightly bitter finish. Seems to be kind of smooth.

Pretty unremarkable stuff. Pours golden yellow with a decent head, some lace.

Everything about this is mild. Mild aroma of hops and malt, mild hops, mild bitterness to finish. Nothing fancy or memorable about this one at all, but nothing really offensive either.

As middle of the road as you want to get.

Pours a clear, golden color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of metallic, yeast, sulfur, and euro pale malt. Fits the style of a Czech Pilsener. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of supfur, yeast, euro pale malt, and slight grain. Overall, an obvisously light-struck beer (at least I strongly hope so).

A decent pilsner, just not something to seek out. A clear golden straw pour, with a quickly dissipating white head. A hint of euro yeast skunk in the nose, which also lessened by bottles end (500ml). Somewhat of a dry, bitter taste – which finishes with a harsh tone, not real pleasant.

Overall, was OK for a sample, but I will not return for more.

The aroma was quite noticable just upon opening the bottle. It had a spicey hoppy note that wasn't nearly as evident after pouring. That was more flat malt, with hints of hops. Big full head, brilliant clear gold. Has some nice qualities of many European versions of similar style, but some unusual and less pleasant aspects, such as a real flatness of aroma upon taking a drink (like drinking water), and the finish has a spiciness that ventures into sourness, grassiness and chemical tastes leaving a less than pleasant aftertaste. Mouthfeel seems a little too flat. An average overall beer. Not undrinkable, just can easily do better.

My second time to try this beer. The first enounter was due to a Slovak's friend's kind recommendation, brought back from his home country. Yet this bottle obtained in London has English translations of Zlaty Bazant on the label: Golden Pheasant. Well, does it mean it's now widely available and popular? At least this is the only Slovak beer I've managed to find in London so far...
BB 21/06/06, served lightly chilled in a weizen glass.

A: pale golden in colour, the restrained beer head builds up fast yet retreats equally w/o hesitation; the sporadic carbonation contains huge bubbles occasionally ascending with growing speed from the bottom of the glass.
S: a dried-grassy note skirted with an eggy note that is quite common to mass-produced lager these days... (or is it?) The malt content is medium, not full, but sufficient to keep a balance with the grassy note. Also noticeable are a honeyish malty aroma and sweet-ish grains, while a swirl could bring up a more fragrant and lemony fruitiness. Not bad.
T: slightly metallic in texture upfront, coupled with a very soft-bodied maltiness pouring onto the palate... wrapping very faint flavours in the middle, nothing more considerable than toast-like bitter-sweet bready malts and a very mild edge of lemonade... slowly and quietly, a dryish-bitter aftertaste comes of age, marking welcomed presence of bunches of hops, and resulting in a mildly hoppy yet quite chewy finish.
M&D: smooth and semi-clean (not crisp), on the texture, pleasant enough for quaffing in quantity. Yet the flavour profile is slightly too boring, as the hoppy entry only brings aboard its body rather than sufficient flavours, hence a beer feeling better in the end than its overall taste... An O.K. Pilsner-style lager I have to say--NEEDS MORE FLAVOURS!!

1pt .9 oz bottle with a pheasant in the middle of their logo, gold foiled cap, green tinted glass. Poured into a pilsener glass. Real nice appearance some decent pure white head and some lacing which is commendable for this style. medium carbonation.

Is this a heinekin? immediately after I took a whiff I was taken back to Las Vegas. Yes Yes I go there a few times a year and I have to bow to the Heinekins for a couple days as they are free. I'm a sucker for free beer. Golden Pheasant is very similair in smell and taste with a distinctive skunk taste that is not spoiled at all this is their intent and its not that bad because its countered more with a toasted wheat flavor and a burnt aftertaste that is cleansed quickly.

Decent.
