Pours a translucent copper colour with a finger thick beige head. The nose leads with strong tropical and citrus fruits followed by sweet malts and a pine hoppiness. The taste leads with a syrupy malt flavour, pine and citrus fruit. There is surprising little alcohol burn given the high ABV, but it becomes more apparent the sweetness is there to mask the hoppiness. The carbonation is on the mild side along with the medium body feel. Not a bad beer but it falls to the usual victim of syrupy sweetness a lot of Imperial IPAs seem to bring to the table to hide the high alcohol and hoppiness.

A rare offering from Howe Sound in a 650ml bottle, not their standard potstopper. Pours a reddish amber with a finger of off white head. Faint aroma of hops, but nothing really strong coming from the glass. Hops are fairly subdued and tastes more sweet then bitter. Strong malt presence, and thicker then expected.. almost drinks like a cross between a barley wine and an IPA. Alcohol is well hidden however and definitely sneaks up on you! Worth a try if you see it around.
