Thanks to Tieman for sharing this one at his tasting.
Pours a clear orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is of malt, brown sugar, caramel, wood, and strong bourbon aromas. Taste is much the same with brown sugar, bourbon, and slight cardboard flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a great smell but there is a slight amount of oxidation going on with the flavor.

This bottle is a vintage 2008.
A - Pours a cloudy, dark mahogany into the tulip with minimal lacing and mild carbonation. Leaves an even and thin light tan head that sticks around and doesn't subside. As the bottle warms up the heads pours thicker.
S - Light candied toffee, green apples, and bourbon. As the beer warms more oak nuances surface and the annoying apple aroma dies down.
T - Follows the nose with bourbon dominating most of the sip with the rest of the flavors tagging along: toffee, faint vanilla, some green apples, and a slight bit of oak with some citrus bitterness on the very end.
M - Thick bodied and quite smooth on the tongue.
O - This sat too long.

2009 vintage poured into CBS snifter
Appearance: Dark red in the glass with very little cream head. No lacing
Smell: Bourbon, bourbon and bourbon. Also some oak nice malty notes
Taste: Smooth and bourbony. Oak an vanilla come through mid-mouthful. Finish is a bit of alcohol heat
Mouthfeel: A little thinner than I was hoping for the style.
Overall: a nice barrel aged barleywine if you like bourbon. Its a pretty big bourbon bomb. Glad I got to try it but not sure it is worth the price.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a Bell's tulip.
A- Pours a near black color with a 1 finger white head. Large bubbly lacing on the surface of the beer.
S- Nice caramel, bourbon, vanilla, and some slight roast.
T- Leather, toffee, bourbon and booze.
M- Medium body and low carbonation. Little thin feel for the style but the booze is definitely noticeable.
O- Nice barleywine with nice barrel characterisitcs but thinness takes and heat take away from the beer some.

A big thanks to JLindros for sharing this bottle with me. Reviewed from notes.
A - An awesome two finger off white rocky head that leaves thick, clumpy side lacing. All atop a nice ruddy garnet slightly hazy pour.
S - Aromas of light bourbon and slightly funky doughy yeast. Smell is of older hops. Does smell slightly past its prime.
T - Taste is nice and smooth bourbon and dark raisin fruits Good, slightly boozy. Semi one note though.
M - Mouthfeel is just shockingly wow for a 2008 beer. Shockingly carbonated which helps hide the ABV very well and the carbonation keeps the barleywine from being heavy.
O - Overall this was a bit too one note for me. The appearance and mouthfeel were outstanding for an aged beer but the taste and aroma just fell a bit flat for me.
