I enjoyed my visit. It happened to be an anniversary weekend when I went and I was able to purchase some vintage barrel aged brews at a discounted price. Good food, good value. We went for lunch and it wasn't too busy, which was cool. Tap selection was a little small, but not disappointing. I would recommend it to anyone traveling through the area.

Stopped by Shoreline on the way from Chicago into Michigan. I had heard about the place for awhile and wanted to check it out. We arrived when they had just opened for the day. Atmosphere kind of reminded me of a chain restaurant or bar/restaurant you would find a new strip mall. The servers were nice enough but pretty standard service. The beers were ok. Many were not complex or bold. A couple were not were more satisfying. Because I enjoy frequenting microbrews, I would probably stop by again for lunch if I was passing through but none of the beers were so good as to make me go out of my way to stop in. The food seemed decent. The sandwiches most people got seemed ok. I tried the SSLT, which was thin smoked salmon in place of the bacon. As much as I like bacon, the smoked salmon was pretty delicious. Over all, not bad and decent value, but nothing to make it that memorable.

This is a big, open-spaced place that cranks country music and has a laid-back attitude.

It is a wildly popular place, it was completely filled to capacity at 2:00 pm on a saturday.

We sat at the bar and got prompt service. Tried all their beers, they were decent but not spectacular. Some were failures and some where really tasty.

Didn't stick around for any food but it looked like standard pub fare.

Overall a decent stop if you need something to do between Chicago and Grand Rapids, not amazing but solid.

A: Located near the Outlet mall in Michigan City. And yes, NIPSCO power plant is pretty much your backdrop. I think the actual building is fitting and appropriate for the town. On the outskirts of an industrial area that will hopefully pick up, this place is situated in a typical work building. From the outside it might not seem like much, but inside it is very nice. There is a long bar with clear glass behind it to showcase part of the brewing process. Wood paneling is on all the walls. Tall tables are made from barrels and there are separate seating rooms. A stage is also present for entertainment.

Q: I enjoyed the beer I had. I also found the beer menu typical for a brewery. A selection of the major beer styles are available.

S: Great service from the staff. Quick, friendly, and knowledgeable.

S: Could be more extensive, but like mentioned before you can find a beer style you like.

F: I enjoyed the food I had. It was priced fairly.

V: A bit pricey, especially when the brewery doesn't have to worry about many overhead costs. I would suggest bringing beer price down fifteen percent to potentially drive more everyday drinking business.

A: lots of space for a seat at the bar, tall tables, and a separate room for more dining in the back. A screen drops down for Sunday football, windows for watching activity in the brewery, a few tvs, and a small stage for open micnight/bands.

Q: Full bar for mixed drinks, and plenty of taps. The place is clean, and everything was nicely eexecuted.

Ser: nothing bad, but nothing to write home about.

Sel: the full bar is nice for folks not crusading for beer. Not sure about wine. The only complaint on the beer is a total lack of guest taps.

Food: great stuff! Someone really knows what they're doing back there. I highly recommend the boneless wings & hopsauce.

Overall: if I lived in Michigan City, i'd probably come here a lot. Sadly, I just come when I have to run an errand inportage (or farther east). I suggest swinging by after shopping at lighthouse, or whatever you're doing outhere.

Located in a highly industrial area of town with a great view of a dirty old huge power plant. You are within a few blocks of the nuclear plant as well. Exterior of the building matches the surrounding area. Run down industry. The interior is nicely finished with new knotty pine on all the walls. Fairly bright and inviting. The food menu looks typical bar food. Huge downside was the price of two 5-ounce pours I tried, 3.50 each. Crazy price for beer that was so bad I could only stomach about 2 ounces each. Prices on beer are very high, probably making up for less traffic at the place. If the beer was free, I would never drink it again. Save yourself the wasted time and money and skip this place.

The brewery is located in cosy Michigan City next to a large outdoor outlet mall. There was pleanty of parking available and had pleanty of seating. I guess due to Indian law, kids are not allowed in the bar area, so they had a spearate area for families....which was nice on one hand, but sucky on another. The atmosphere seemed alot better in the bar area than where we were. The menu was somewhat limited, but god for a brewery. I had teh pulled pork which was very good. They have pleanty of good beers on tap and I am sure that anyone could find something that they like. There were 12 of there own beers on tap. The service was good and they took old growlers in exchange for new ones....not every brewery would do that!! If in the area it is certainly worth a visit.

Located in an old industrial building next to the NIPSCO Michigan City power plant (no, it's not a nuke, even if does have one of those giant venturi cooling towers), Shoreline brewery is convenient to both the Indiana Dunes Nat'l Lakeshore and State Park, and the Lighthouse Outlet Mall (this could save the sanity of those who find a pub far more relaxing than an outlet mall). It's one block north of US 12 and about 3 blocks north of the mall.

The decor does a decent job of covering up what could be fairly nasty-looking parts of the old building while letting the brick and concrete industrial feel ooze into the place in controlled doses. A smaller dining room adjacent to the main bar accommodates those parties with under-21 members, and they serve Sprecher sodas instead of the usual Coke or Pepsi products. Go all craft or go home.

Beers are good quality and brewed to-style, except for those that were intended to color outside the lines. Staff is all quite knowledgeable about the beers. Stout was very good, the Sum Nug IIPA left a good hop pucker behind as it should, and the Curse the Goat doppelbock did it all right. With roughly 12 taps, only the most single-minded and finicky could not find something to their liking.

Menu items were varied and mildly adventurous, with the veggie chips surprisingly good and the buffalo calamari quite nice. A few, but not all, of the appetizers seemed to be a slightly small for the price. The entrees were right-sized to even a bit generous.

Overall a spot well worth the detour.

They say first impressions are everything. Well, my first impression with Shoreline did me in. I wasn't impressed with the beers I did try. The other few I wanted to try weren't available, so I can't comment on those. The bar itself reminded me of an old western bar. I was expecting to see spit buckets in every corner. The waitress was nice, and gave us some help as far as the area was concerned. As for the food, I ordered their battered cod fillets. I took one bite made a face. My wife took a bite and made the same face. It was bland and mushy, with almost no flavor at all. The waitress said this was their best selling item, which kind of scared me. I sent it back. It killed my appetite all together, as I did not order anything else. I will not be going back to Shoreline.

A: not much to speak of, knotty pine, concrete floors, smokey
Q: good, clean, nothing offensive, beers are OK but nothing special
S: no one behind the bar when we sat down, sat for 5-10 minutes before the bartendress showed up and asked for our order, no one else (servers) asked us if we needed anything, once we placed our order everything was fine and attentive
S: nothing unusual but good selection of Shoreline beers (Stella Blue, Batch 300, Curse the Goat, Discombobulation, Big Bertha, Singing Sands, etc.)
F: I had a "lunch" fried fish which was three small pieces and french fries for $11.00 (way too expensive for what you received), a friend ordered french onion soup that was more like broth with onions added
V: I ordered 5oz samplers and noticed that the prices were a bit high for the beers
Curse the Goat ($3.00 for 5oz.)
Discombobulation ($3.50 for 5oz.)
Beltaine ($1.50 for 5oz.)
Imperial Pilsner ($1.75 for 5oz.)
