The beer had me at the pour, such a pretty beer. Fantastic head, beautiful lacing. Finishes a little on the lighter side for a pale but it's been a go to at our new spot Gnarly Brews in Phillipsburg, NJ.

From a nitro tap in a pint glass.

A- See through golden color with a 2f snow white head. That head left lots of fat lacing.
Abundant active bubbles.

S- Bready, caramel sweets, mild hops.

T- Hoppy pale ale.

M- In a word: Creamy. Dry finish.

O- Dry, hoppy pale ale, pretty good.

The wonderful weave of nitro-infusion and hoppy ale sees no better balance than the beautiful pale ale of Founders Brewing. As their ale can often seem too assertive for the American pale style, the creamy nitro character brings it back to within balance.

The hazy copper body settles with a patient cascade of milky froth. With muted aromatics simmering towards the rim, the ale welcomes the dry-hopped character for the much needed extra influence on the citrus, grass and pine perfume of those late addition hops. Its creamy but dry upstart rewards the initial palate with marshmallowy texture, but with a dry caramel undertow.

As the taste unfolds, flavors of graham cracker, toast, and pecan announce. But soon after, the balance shifts to hops. Pink grapefruit, bright orange and a hint of lemon drop counteract the malt sweetness and gives the taste a decidedly American flare.

With the nitro creaminess retreating, the ale finishes crisp, clean and minty-cool. Light hop grassiness offer a lemon verbena herbal tone while the soft hop resins ensure a bitter but balanced finish, even while dried citrus peel extend with echoes.

From nitro at Rattle n Hum. A picture perfect pour. Light coppery color with a thick creamy looking head that leaves dense veil of lacing. Taste is very refreshing. Great balance.
