12 fl oz brown bottle served in a tulip.
Amber with oak and burgundy highlights. The head sits up about 2 inches high; dense foam that plasters the tulip's sides and rim leaving lacing with equal durability.
Sweet caramel aroma with notes of vanilla. Spicy rye; pumpernickel. A real nice blend of sweet and spicy aromatics. Faint hints of floral hops and a touch of mustiness.
Spicy rye up front over faint citrus, green apple, and floral notes from the hop character; rather complex. Over the active hop spice character is a pleasantly sweet, malt backbone: caramel with note of raising and fig. A full, clean bitterness is followed by a spicy citrus aftertaste.
A full, medium body. Active yet smooth in spots; very well balanced.
What a flavorful, unique offering. Great eye candy, great flavors, and a really good balance on a beer that would probably fit every season.
