Pours out amber brown and sits burnt amber in the glass with a large, light tan head. Keeps a good skim on the surface and coats the glass with boatloads of lacings, huzah! A dandy of a beer to hold in front of you.
Smells rich and citrusy with oranges, grapefruit, lemon and lime. Apricots run around the sides with hits of peach and apple as well. Any sign of maltiness is completly dominated by these rich, citrus hop aromas. I'm going to enjoy this.
Tastes initally malty, with nice hints of caramel, but is soon pushed aside by a sharp intrusion of hop flavors. Full, pine cone flavors are accompanied by notes of grapefruit rind and lime. Nice toasty flavor appears as hop flaovrs mellow out and brings with it a nice, light flavor of rye. Finish is well bittered and boasts more citrus and pine flavors and a nice lingering hint of rye.
Crisp and refreshing in the mouth. Nice, lively carbonation in a medium body. Well done, Founders. You had me at "Centennial." I could drink this beer all day and all night. I absolutely adore the blend of citrusy hops and light rye flavor. This beer, along with it's Founders bretheren will find their way into my fridge on a frequent basis....oh baby.
