Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. It pours a translucent reddish-brown color. A 1 inch very light tan head forms and reduces to a nice over-the-top lacing.
The aroma is a great blend of citrus hops mixed with a nice rye breadiness. A nice caramel malt backbone is present.
The taste is great as well, combining that stronger citrus hops with a caramel malt backbone and a solid rye component that sits throughout resulting in a good spiciness.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a balancing carbonation that flows smoothly leaving an a bitterness followed by a grapefruit dryness. Quite smooth.
Overall, this is a great beer. Each component is very good and results in a solid overall product that is nicely balanced and not so intense that you can't have another, which you will likely want to do.
