Red's Rye pours a beautiful burnt orange sienna body with a huge chunky billowing tan head that stands strong and leaves chunks of lacing. The look is like none other. Unfiltered and cloudy as well.
The aroma is pungent hops that impart a grapefruit nose along with plenty of sweet malt.
The taste is quite bitter, but balanced well with loads of malt. The finish brings forth the rye spice character. I am gonna guess Amarillo was used in this brew.
The mouthfeel is quite full with carbonation on the low side. This doesn't bother me too much.
This is by far one of the best somewhat easily available rye beers out in the market and I thoroughly enjoy it.
