12oz bottle poured into tulip.

A - Rich burnt amber. Cloudy with a thin white head.

S - Sharp grapefruit, citrus aroma with hints of pine, bready malts and brown sugar.

T - The rye shows up on the palate with the hops, and it's delicious. Sweet bready malts, rye and citrus up front, followed by grapefruit, pine, and a strong hop bitterness. Finish is clean with a blend of spicy hops and malty sweetness.

M - Medium body, crisp and smooth. Good carbonation, slightly dry finish.

O - This is a superb rye beer. It's incredibly hoppy, but the bold, sweet malts and rye tend to balance everything out. Very enjoyable.

Enjoyed on tap at DBGB in NYC (Bowery and Houston).

A: Pours a beautiful clear, dark amber with ruby hues. No apparent bubbling. Thin white head doesn't linger; gives way to sparse lacing.

S: Incredible. Hop oils and resins, citrus (esp. grapefruit), biscuity malt. Rye is subtle but provides a nice crispy twang in contrast to the hoppy earthiness.

T: Good but nothing special. Rye comes through and provides a nice layer of complexity on top of already excellently balanced malt/hop profiles. Citrus (esp. grapefruit), sweet malt.

M: Perfectly carbonated with a nice alcohol booziness. Fairly thin and crisp with a slight resiny stickiness.

O: A great PA; would want again.

Poured 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Deep mahogony red body, nearly caramel one finger head. A bit of lacing as the head dissipates. Sour apple and citrus hop (70 IBU's quite apparent) and rye on the nose, as well as the flavor. Dry and spicy with milky malt. Classic founders smoothness, wet, crispy, drinkable.

A - The beer oured about a finger of head into my Boulevard tulip. A little cloudy body that is brown with only ths slightest reddness to it. Head is a big bouble light tan.

S - Like a good sweet IPA or DIPA. Smooth hops and honey.

T - Pretty good flvors of hops and rye which are well balanced. It's good.

M - Medium body with stronger carbonation. Does not add or take away from anything in this beer.

O - It is a decent beer, but nothing really stands out. Drinkable, but not something I need to seek out again.

A--Cloudy amber with an off white head. Does not have too great of retention but sports a nice lacing on the glass.
S--Big on the amarillo hops, piney and resiny, and dark rye bread, faint caramel, toffee.
T--Much less hoppy than the smell. Classic belgian spice flavors up front--maybe plum or some sort of mild dark fruit, clove, candy sugar, caramel, then thick rye bread, then the hops cut through finish ever so delicately and refreshingly. Cleanly, crisply, beautifully.
M--Chewy and yummy.
Overall, this rocks this little Texas girl's world. Shout out to OsNJCB for hooking me up with this one.
