A - Pours a beautiful copper red, with a cream white head and moderate lacing.

S - Strong hops, and citrus and finishes with a nice malt presence.

T - Wow, tastes just like grapefruit juice I love it! Along with other citrus fruits and pine. Sweet and bitter very tasty.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation very smooth.

Bottle picked up at Table and Vine in Springfield, Bottled 01/03/12, Enjoyed 01/26/12
A: Clear ruby-red color, nice off-white head that leaves very nice lacing.
S: Sweet grapefruit jumps off this thing. While I love tropical hop flavors and they are so hot right now, this thing really makes me realize how beautiful just simple grapefruit can be. It really smells both juicy and bitter and epitomizes American C hops. I know this is amarillo dry-hopped, but I throw amarillo in there with cascade and centennial. After I calm down from the grapefruit the rye is certainly there as is an herbal edge to the hops.
T: This beer offers a legit hop onslaught. Sweet hop flavors pound the palate. Grapefruit and a little hop funk kick in. The rye is there but is subdued by the hops. The rye is most prevalent on the finish and lingers with the citrusy hop oils. The beer stays very dry through-ought. I certainly taste the rye but not really any other malt characteristics. It finishes very dry but not overly bitter.
M: Mouth feel is beautiful. I would say it is on the fuller side for a 6.6% IPA/ Rye Beer. The malt backbone gives it lots of body but is not that present in the taste. Just the way I like my hoppy beers.
O: Overall, insane beer. Loaded with hops but not overly bitter. The rye plays second fiddle to the hops perfectly. One of the most drinkable really hoppy beers I have ever had.

Poured unto a pint.

Appearance: Semi cloudy amber with a 1/4" orange tinted white head.

Smell: Scent of hops, comes off pretty sharp if you ask me. Only problem is it leaves your nose as quick as it comes in.

Taste: Malty feel, tastes the way real beer should taste. Bitter, but flavor is amplified of wheat, hops and rye.

Mouth: Medium body, but not the smoothest.

Overall: Not a bad beer at all, actually it's pretty damn good. I love how well constructed and flavorful it is. Pleasure to have, keep drinking....Salud!

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a rich amber color, noticeably effevescent, and solid one finger head. Excellent retention and beautiful creamy lacing all over the side of the glass.

Smells like it should- malty with a sharp rye scent along with some hops.

Tastes great- smooth with subtle notes of rye and hops. Very well balanced.

Mouthfeel is a little bit lacking but by no means poor. It is a LITTLE watery (not too much so!) with light to medium carbonation and a little oiliness from the hops.

Overall a very enjoyable session ale- one I will definitely buy more of when I'm back in Ohio!

A - Nice hazy amber orange color; Nice head and great lacing

S - Citrus and Pine, spice, and biscuity malts

T - Nice crisp bitterness, a mild spice, and citrusy grapefruit

M - Smooth, good carbonation, medium light body

Overall - I've had this beer many times...always best fresh and on draft. From the bottle it can be very good if fresh. Hoppy, spicy, very nice rye ipa. Good stuff. Definitely gift it a try.
