Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a rich amber color, noticeably effevescent, and solid one finger head. Excellent retention and beautiful creamy lacing all over the side of the glass.

Smells like it should- malty with a sharp rye scent along with some hops.

Tastes great- smooth with subtle notes of rye and hops. Very well balanced.

Mouthfeel is a little bit lacking but by no means poor. It is a LITTLE watery (not too much so!) with light to medium carbonation and a little oiliness from the hops.

Overall a very enjoyable session ale- one I will definitely buy more of when I'm back in Ohio!

A - Nice hazy amber orange color; Nice head and great lacing

S - Citrus and Pine, spice, and biscuity malts

T - Nice crisp bitterness, a mild spice, and citrusy grapefruit

M - Smooth, good carbonation, medium light body

Overall - I've had this beer many times...always best fresh and on draft. From the bottle it can be very good if fresh. Hoppy, spicy, very nice rye ipa. Good stuff. Definitely gift it a try.

Cheers!!

A: Pours a burnt orange color with a small off-white head that fades to nice lacing.

S: Aroma of rye, citrus, grain and bit of malt sweetness. There are also traces of spice and herb in the background.

T:Taste of citrus with some mild sweetness. A mixture of spice and herbs with a grainy texture. A distinct bitterness and a dry finish.

F: Fairly medium body, crisp smooth and refreshing.

O: Goes down easy. Interesting beer with a unique character. Well worth a try.

12 oz. bottle into pint glass.

A: Ruby/amber colored beer with a fairly sustained, thick, one-finger khaki-colored head.

S: Nose is nice and complex. It's hoppy, earthy, a bit spicy, malty...a lot going on. Very nice.

T: Also has an equally complex taste. It's fairly hoppy up front, smacking the palate with pine and grapefruit. The beer switches gears a bit and turns really earthy and malty. Finally, the rye spice peaks through at the end and leaves a bitter, spicy, rye aftertaste. Very tasty.

M: Mouthfeel is appropriately thick and smooth. Goes down nice and easy. No issues here.

O: Certainly the epitome of the style. Looks good, nose is amazing, taste is nice and complex, and mouthfeel is good. This one is a classic. I really judge all rye beers against this one. A think a bit more of caramel malt sweetness would really put it over the top, though.

Nonetheless, a great treat.
