Founders Oatmeal Stout
Enjoyed on tap at the Sugar Maple on 1/25/14. Served in a nonick Sierra Nevada pint glass, at appropriate temp.
A) Kind of dark brown to hazel colored brew, with a big creamy tan head. Love the way a nitro poured beer looks... So delicious...
S) Roasted malt, light coffee, hint of chocolate. A little hint of bitterness from the Nugget hops.
T) The flavor is pretty close to the nose. You get some of the oats, which enhance it a bit. Perhaps a little nutty as well. A little sweeter than the aroma let on, with bitterness on the backend.
M) Lighter medium body... The nitro creaminess you'd expect. It is pretty soft, and goes down easy. Slightly dry on the finish.
O) I'm kind of a sucker for nitro taps. This was really nice... Easy drinking, with a nice flavor. You could definitely pound down a few pints of this given the 4.5% ABV. I'd go for this one again.
Serving type: nitro-tap
