This beer poured a beautiful red with a two finger high off-white head. Lively carbonation was visible, as well as a moderate amount of lacing. The initial smell of the beer was that of Citrus hops, pine, and fruits. The initial taste of the beer was the citrus hops , followed by piney overtones, with a light mount of malts. This brew finished in a rather weak manner, not as bitter as I would have expected. The beer had a medium body and was surprisingly not dry.
I would have to say that this is a pretty good DIPA. Although I would have liked it to be more bitter and dry, it still satiated my want for this style. Also, this was my first growler experience, and I'd say it panned out very nicely. An excellent beer, definitely worth seeking.

Bottled 5/24/13 at 45 degrees into imperial pint
Aroma – very deep pine/hemlock aroma
Head large (6.5cm), frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing to a 2 mm layer
Body clear, more amber than orange
Flavor begins with a thick sweet piney taste, very resinous, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate is medium, oily to syrupy, with a light bitter finish
I realize this beer is technically past its prime, but has aged well, becoming a very smooth flavorable ale. I’ll be buying more to cellar.
