poured a year+ bottle into an unbranded tulip after a long day and the chosen brew by the new lady, ill consider this a test of fate with her, love it fresh, heard about sitting on it lets see if it pays off
appearance - deep amberish red color, a fingers off white head that leaves nice lacing, good carbonation, looks like love at first sight
smell - unline fresh sweet malts dominate the nose, caramel, vanilla, dominate with slight hints of what used to be floral hops and grapefruit juice with an alcoholic tinge that is present throughout, excited, not what it used to be but still smells delicious
taste - this is more of an american strong ale or barley wine rather than a "TIPA", sweet caramel malts dominate up front, with hints of vanilla and an almost raisin like flavor, this fades into a sweet, warming alcoholic tinge, but no burn left in this little guy, the 12% is hidden quite well now, finishes with a small amount of citrus and a resin that hangs around for a while, over all this is a damn tasty brew, its a completely different beer with some time on it, a delicious beer with some time on it
mouthfeel - kinda thick, almost syrupy, but the carbonation helps lighten the load, coats the throat a s it goes down
overall - will always remember to set one aside for a yearly treat but fresh is still so damn tasty
as for her test of fate, with beer sense like this theres potential

12 oz bottle was poured into a tulip glass.
Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to nothing quickly. It is an amber copper color with good clarity and vision of slow moving bubbles coming up through the glass.
Smell: Floral, grassy, pungent, citrus, onion, garlic, booze, and caramel.
Taste: Same as above. Burning tingly boozy sensation going down. Even after warming up, it's still the same.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, full bodied, low carbonation, tingly bitterness, and real boozy. It's definitely a sipper.
Overall: It's been a while, but still tasty. Should have held on to this one a bit longer.
