A: Pours a dark amber/ruby red with amber highlights with just a touch of haziness. There's about a half inch of head that dissipates quickly. A nice film clings to the side of the glass with sparse lacing.
N: Huge aromas waft up when poured. Bright orangey citrus, clementine, tangerine, resiny pine and carmelized candy sugar.
T: Follows the nose for the most part. Starts with huge resiny pine that's almost spicy along with a bouguet of citrus fruits consisting of Navel orange, tangerine, clementine, lemon and grapefruit. This is all backed by sweet caramel malts and candy sugar. Finishes dry with mostly pine, lingering sugars and some citrus elements.
M: Medium-full bodied, chewy, semi-sticky, warming and dry.
O: An outstanding Triple IPA! Most IPAs around the 12% abv range tend to be a little more focused on the malt (not on purpose, of course). This one is still all about the hops; Big, huge, bitter American hops! Mmmm...I'm dancing with the Devil. :)
