It's hard not to start with saying that six bucks for twelve ounces is a touch steep, certainly for my budget. However! I've paid that much or more for lame beer at a bar.
I figure six bucks for the advancement of science is not a bad deal.
Onto what science produced! Devil Dancer straddles the current line of intense beer and extreme beer. Flavors are strong and deep and very nearly syrupy but just not syrupy. Dense and intense hop flavor. If someone poured me a sample of this my mind would probably leap to barleywine, but given some thought and reviewing experience, triple IPA is a solid standpoint. Carbonation and citrus characteristics keep me going back to my glass that's just almost too much to handle at a sitting.
This beer has some of the mojo that makes me think of pouring yourself a glass of good whiskey or cognac. You sit and get hit and have an encounter.
I suppose the name of Devil Dancer is not a lightly chosen name.
