Poured from bottle to pint glass. Thin head with a clear orange-redish color.
Smell is sweet. Lots of caramel and a slight hop-aroma. Not what I was expecting.
Taste is more along the lines of a barleywine. Very sweet and syrupy with a fairly strong alcohol hottness. Hop aftertaste was miminal, but it does linger. Caramel tasting malts dominate this TIPA. Slight roasty flavor as well.
Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy. Slick mouthfeel and low carbonation.
Drinkability is alright. To much alcohol heat and sweetness. Good one to sip on though.
Overall, not really what I was expecting. This was more like a barleywine to me. The 13% makes itself well known. If you're looking for a very sweet and hot Triple IPA, then this is your beer.
