A: Pours an incredibly dark brown, almost pitch black and sits midnight black in the glass. Dark mocha head - huge considering the aging and abv. Incredibly creamy retention and lacing. Looks a lot like their imperial stout, but creamier and slightly lighter and less viscous.
S: Rich incredibly dark chocolate cake with a light vanilla icing, swimming in bourbon next to a cup of coffee. At first when cold it smelled like pure coffee, and after about an hour it unleashed it's true colors. The bourbon is not the firestone creamy vanilla/coconut/oak - its a more 'raw' hot flavor, like the essence of bourbon itself.
T: Less decadent than the nose, but still pretty amazing. Hot bourbon, huge dark roast coffee, incredibly bitter dark chocolate - slighter milk chocolate, vanilla and oak. Definitely not too hot, a very pleasant warming.
P: Very smooth, soft carbonation. It's a big, full bodied beer, but not incredibly viscous.
O: Would really like to see how it evolves over a year because the coffee is so aggressive now. Really fantastic beer, one I will remember.

Very excited to finally try this one.
Beer is jet black with a very small tan head which fades quickly.
Nose is very good. Contains coffee, bourbon, chocolate. Very nice blend of the scents, all well integrated. A bit of vanilla.
Taste is like the nose. Moderately bitter, tasting of both coffee and chocolate. The bourbon is quite present, providing some vanilla and a bit of sweetness that offsets the bitter. Roasted malt. Like the nose, the flavours are super integrated. The bourbon not as intense as expected, but quite present.
Full bodied, moderately carbonated. Some alcohol heat.
Overall, excellent stuff. An extremely well done BBA stout.
