Was told my local had only received 1 case of this. Even served me a thimble before I bought it. APA? I'll dig it.
[L] Pours a clear, pale gold. White head atop, that dies to a film.
[S] For a pale ale, the nose on this is amazing. Juicy citrus, tropicals, grass, ripe fruit, and pale malt. A wet hop ale that leans more toward IPA, here. Can't say I could expect anything more for this style.
[T] Mouth starts off with herbal/earthiness, that leads into a sweet, malty middle with dank/candy hops, and finishes potent with a good bit of pine and rind. I enjoy hoppy pales. This is no exception.
[F] Well carbonated, and thin to mild-bodied. Great hoppy linger, which seems to seep into the palate.
[D] At the price, a four pack would be an indulgence. Yet, I could see myself giving in, and consuming them all.
Almost like a lighter-bodied, wet-hopped and earthier, Alpha king. Side by side, I may have trouble choosing a winner. If you can get ahold of a fresh bottle of this, it is a must-try/revisit.
