A: Black; slightly glossy black. Slowly forms a creamy, tight, extra-dark mocha colored head that eventually recedes to a thin ring around the edge. Leaves some light lacing.
S: Not overly aromatic, but what is there is pleasant. Mostly cocoa and deeply roasted malts, with a bit of char.
T: Taste is intense. Starts off with bitter chocolate and charred malts. There are some light piney hops that try, but fail, to push through. Long, lingering, dry cocoa finish.
M: Full bodied and heavy. Carbonation is actually a bit higher than you'd expect from such a big beer. Moderate charred malt bitterness and a lingering chalkiness on the finish/
T: This is a beast of a beer, but is also a very good one and is quite a bit better than many of those highly sought after single-day release rarities.
